The chassis is finally clear of decals and velcro, the parts are mostly ready to go back on.
I still have to polish the pins and I think I will polish the shock's pivot balls just to make the suspension as smooth as it can get. I'm sure it wont make too much difference, but what the hell. I also got to rebuild the shocks and transmission.
I cleaned up the old battery cup for craps and giggles, it is white and only has two slits in the top of it. It's still better than half the ones I got. The new one going in is in great shape. With that MIP steering setup I might have to use Associated ball cups for better clearance on the tower and use RPM for the rest of it.

I forgot, I got to boil first...After the discussions earlier in the thread, I'm going to wait to hear from Rod as to how long he wants me to boil them for.
For now I might as well rebuild the shocks...using the rebuild kit and green slime between the o-rings

BTW, don't put any aluminum parts in this stuff! I should have known better, but it slipped by me since I had never used it before. As you can see the fizzing in that tub...all the aluminum parts came out with a white crust on them, so I'm going to the LHS for some screws and washers

They were only soaking for a minute or two before I clued in, all the steel parts were fine

Ummm..... Bachelor's degree! But I know you only copy and pasted your thesis!
Nice work on that Worlds btw! With the help of Anthony, we may just get the track testing of the full line of RC10's off and going much sooner!

Don't worry Reggie, I will only send you the best of the best
I have to take a break from the restoration. I am preoccupied doing that work thing at work now

. I will travel back home by the weekend, spend some quality time with my lady then continue the restoration once she lets me go. Oh and she wants to travel somewhere for a week too

.
I got the shocks rebuilt, so first thing is to boil, then finish polishing the pins so I can start the assembly, and work on the transmission last.
I'll be back after the misses is willing to let me get back to my man cave in the basement

I'm back home and got some time away from the wifey to work on the resto..
First thing was to boil parts for 20 minutes. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to boil the arms, so I left them out and can do it later.
I got the pins all polished and some of the assembling done, but will wait til I finish the assembly.

That 'splatter' paint job is too cool! Takes me back - reminds me of the rad 80s Mongoose BMXs!

I hop that you 2 hosers followed the correct protocol for the packing material by signing the packing slip before shipping
