unfortunately, the Zep will remove the finish on the hardware and there is a little rubbing involved. If there was something out there that we could just throw our screws into and not have to scrub them and without taking off the finish please let me know

and I use bleach just to get the nice bone colour back to the parts, and get rid of the yellow colour. The peroxide does get the parts whiter though.

Getting a bit further on in the build

The pins are polished, the shocks are rebuilt and the chassis is being stripped.

For those who like a visual, here are the shocks all ready to be assembled. Green springs, #1 pistons and 30wt oil all around
I picked up some Greased Lightning while I was in the States, cant get it here in Canada which sucks because it works way better than the EasyOff yellow can
I think these rear pins are good to go once I get them polished up

Oh!!!! Those are the very rare Factory Team Version of inner rear hinge pins! They have been tuned to gain a little resistance in the suspension movement! They are keepers! I feel very lucky to have a few in my parts bin!

Besides, what's a good shaft without a bit of bend in it?

Funny you say that! I was pulling out parts for the Graphite this morning!

Exciting day today, got my chassis and a set of rear pins. The pins were the wrong ones somehow, but I got it mocked up

Here are some pics. I have Lundsford turnbuckles, but I am waiting for some yellow RPM ballcups. I also need some white nylon nuts and some more red washers, but it's almost complete Since I been working on a Shell project for the last 4 years, here is my vision for the body

I agree and have tried to come up with a more retro Shell racing layout, but haven't found anything great yet. I even thought about painting it like the old fuel trucks, but I think it would look too boring. I kinda want to use the 10T body since I already bought it AND the decals too, although I don't plan on using most of them on this one. The place where I got custom decals done is no longer around so now I got to find someone new to whip me up some Shell decals. I'm not sure what I going to use for electronics yet, but probably Tekin since they have some red colour on them.

I had the tranny and shocks already done, just a matter of butting it together. I polished the pins and shafts, used peroxide and bleach, lol. The bleached didn't get my whites as white as I wanted. Since I had a yellow chassis I wanted a bit more white to the parts. Pretty much everything was prepped though.

Oh, and I owe you a pack of mini nuts, sorry your hardware tray was closer than the hobby shop
