Admitting that you might have a problem is the first step my friend!

scr8p's 55 chevy is going to see the light of day for the first time in 9 years when it's pushed out of his dad's pole building tommorrow.
believe it or not.....
mrlexan has 48 newly built rc10's, but he enjoys being ragged on so much about not building any, he refuses to post pics of them.
believe it or not.....

So I have some water damage in my RV interior caused by me listening to bad advice about self leveling caulk application, which now causes me to have to replace interior roof framing, interior ceiling panels, exterior roofing panels and a skylight enclosure. Yeah for me- so I am near a camping world yesterday and go and talk to the parts/service desk ( before lunch ) and ask about the interior panels ( they come in 4x8 sheets ) and I am told that they can only order by VIN which I know is incorrect. Then I ask about the NEO Skylight and am also told I can't just order the correct size ( they only make 3 sizes ) I can only order by VIN. So I ask about the caulking and the contact material for the roof and again captain stupid knows jack--
Today I diagnose my 1993 MTD garden tractor as having a bad vacuum fuel pump, or maybe a pickup issue.......down to the local small engine place to order the pump and the guy needs the engine number and code.....which I have ( thanks iPhone ) then he decides that there are 2 different ones and can't tell what one mine has.....which I have ( again my phone ). Then he tells me if it will run for a bit with the choke on full, and then stall it is not the pump, there is no way it is the pump......so I ask him that if the choke is applied on full, the am I not just changing the A/F ratio to make up for the weak pump since the plugs show a very lean color.......... he says no way, the carb is plugged and they need to remove it and soak it. I told them that I had already dissasembled it and cleaned it at the beginning of the season. He says that there is no way I could have.
Customer Service is a thing of the past........the customer is always wrong, and needs to be corrected.
Believe it or not..

that kinda reminds of how most hobby shops I've ever been in have treated me.
"no, I don't want that one, i need this one" "but it doesn't match your application" "yes agreed, this is a custom build" ***glazed empty look on employee's face***. "nevermind, i'll make one from scratch"
or better yet, "I need xyz for this 199x such and such." "well it's not in the system so we must not carry it." there are approximately 300,000 vehicles that use this part, how could you NOT carry it? UGH

Kinda like the chimps behind the counter at your local AutoZone asking you for your make and model year even though your only buying a bottle of Armor All.

Yeah, most of the hobby shops in my area have chimps behind the counter. Absolutelly positivelly cannot help you without a part #. And if it is not in the system, "we must not have it. But I can order it and have it in two days". I can remember going into the shops when I was a kid and asking for a part by description, and the guy behind the counter knew what I was talking about AND where it was and if they had it. Now, nobody gives a $hit. The funniest part is they try to talk down to you because you don't have a part #, Like I don't have any idea what I am looking for. Most of them don't know that I have been winning races, and building my own cars since before they were born

No doubt! I walked into my somewhat local hobby store the other day with most of an JRx2 in my hand. You would've thought I had an alien in my grasp! Everyone in the store was staring at the car and not one person in the store knew what it was...
The weird thing is that this store has a seemingly booming business with a damn nice track right behind it. Believe it or not.
