I just remembered a bit more about that hydraulic system. I was mistaken. There was a conventional pinion and spur gear. There was no ball or gear diff. The hydraulic portion was the differential itself. It was a hydraulic diff. I was trying to remember what it looked like inside and that's the only thing that makes sense. Keep in mind I was about 11 or 12 when I saw it. That car was so crazy fast off the line because the hydraulic fluid worked as both the diff and a slipper. This was several years before a slipper ever appeared. Good times back then. On the north side of town my friend Barry had started Bullet Racing so there was lots of new innovative stuff to see all the time. I miss those days.
