for the rear bulk tabs, i cut the majority off with a dremel, then used the dremel with a half inch or so sanding drum to put a nice curve in it.

This has moved on only a little bit, but I've added a couple of new pics. I've chopped the bulkhead and found that it was once white and I've cut and painted a motor mount so all that’s left to do is some dyeing and body cutting, which I am not looking forward to.

May I know what's the material of that white chassis?

Is it more sturdy than the carbon fiber?

it is more fragile, more flexible and less resistant than CF, but also less expensive

The A&L fiberglass chassis is crazy thick. :) I've never seen a piece of fiberglass even close to that thickness. I think it flexes about as much as the aluminum tub. I'm might rig nose braces to mine. I think it can be done with nose tubes and some RC10 GT parts. We'll see.

i had thought about doing that to mine, also (bracing the nose with gt parts). but, since it's a shelfer, i'd rather keep it looking as period correct as possible.

What you guys need are graphite nose plates, no braces, no flex, no worries

Is the GT the one with the little A shaped brackets that the tubes attach to? I remember seeing a setup like that and had no idea what it was. I nothing about the GT.

they had 2 different mounts. the older gt's with the 1 piece chassis had nice cast mounts, and the newer ones were plastic.

this is the best pic i have of the older ones on my gt.
