..... I think I understand it lol! - its a bit more than my point & shoot Pentax can achieve, but I guess I can mock-up some form of backdrop similar to what you show with some strong backlighting to achieve better pictures than I get now

That is one beautiful resto job!! A true numbers matching virgin cherry to be sealed in airless chamber for aliens to discover a millenia from now. Great job.
