Me neither, if you exclude the Optima series. :P I'll have to check my Tower Hobbies catalog and Zebra Optima more closely, tonight or tomorrow night...now I have my doubts about those 3 parts on the right, but I know I have the top barbell-shaped piece in matching gold to the rest of the chassis. :?

Those parts were included and should be under the front skid plate in the package. You can just see them in this pic:

That package is a beautiful sight to behold. 8) Always loved the Kyosho gold color. The RC10 shock gold was more like a brassy beer, whereas the Kyosho gold was champagne.

Why was this kit called a Celebration Set?

It was a special edition commemmorating the xxxxxxth sale of an Optima...I can't recall the exact number--a million? Anyway, it says in the Tower Hobbies catalog I have, yet one more thing I'll want to check tonight!

How much should one expect to pay?

This seems reasonable- http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=7465 of course, I am far from a Kyosho expert.

The new unopened kits I've seen sell have gone from between $100 to $200. It generally seems to fluctuate in that range.

After the 100,000th Optima was sold, 10,000 limited edition gold Optimas were produced. Then during or after that, the celebration kits as shown above were made available.

So, any progress on the mystery? I'm restoring an Optima and I have these parts that I took off a runner. I have the extra parts discussed (see picture). So, do the extra parts mean the parts didn't come from the add-on gold kit, but from the Gold Optima?

I'm pretty sure the parts came from the kit, because I don't know anybody who actually bought one of the gold special edition Optimas. Those were pretty rare.

Both the Gold Celebration Edition Optima kit and the Option House Celebration Chassis Kit have the same number of gold parts.

Also, neither of them included the gold rear motor guard, gold side guards, gold shocks, gold universals, etc.
