I can't put the quote under my avatar that I have on other sites where profanity is allowed, but if you've seen "Heat" and remember the scene where Al Pacino is shaking down the snitch at the Porsche chop shop, you'll understand that I don't like to have my time wasted. Lol. An entire evening of quality RC time last night was shot because of those damned Ass-ociated shocks!

Or, for you Lebowski fans, the shocks were messing with my zen thing, man.

Know how it is ,i rebuilt 12 shocks yesterday.Sanding the plastic sure helps,it clicks right in after that.I just cant seem to do bottom fed shocks,i smash them lol DON

I had a similar issue with my top loaders, as well as my V2 shocks. The original red o-rings wouldn't fit properly. I tried NIP ones as well as slightly used ones, and they were no better. I looked at them compared to several other brands of o-rings and they looked larger. I eventually put the Kyosho X-rings in (clear) and they were perfect. They are a little more pricey, but they last much longer than AE units. I found the AE red units swell alot, and can make rebuilding near impossible. BTW, I have never had to sand down any spacers. -Jeff

I allways file down the spacer in a "snap-shock", it makes it a bit more smooth.

Also I use different O-rings, there called "801's". I had them made with a softer rubber and slightly diffent size than the stock versions.
Here in the Netherlands and Belgium most top drivers use them, also quite a few in the UK.

In the V2's I also like to sand the spacer since I hate leaving the bottom unscrewed slightly.

Yup, that is them. I like them allot. They also make an orange set as well. I don't know if they are the same material though. -Jeff

I'm going to have to order a few sets of those. I mentioned to the guy behind the counter at hobbytown about this same problem last year, no help. Just said to contact AE's customer service. I swear if it's not Traxxas, they just don't care!
