tips for keeping it nice are: clean, dry and constant temp, low humidity. The tires should be kept out of the sunlight as the UV will break them down. Will also yellow the nylon some too.

So I got to tinkering a bit tonight.

Replaced the KO servos and resistor speed control with a Futaba 148 for steering and a Futaba MC112B for go power.

There is a big old Futaba 75mhz receiver that will get mounted above the ESC on a shelf. Probably going to build that tomorrow.

I also noticed that the bulkhead battery box is notched to clear the arm of the mechanical speed control that was originally installed.

Bulkhead was notched (clean job) to clear the servo wire (as per the AE instruction manual).

OK well it's officially been run....

Got everything mounted up and pulled off a pretty clean install if I say so myself.....

Didn't have any nimh or nicd packs that would fit, so I used a 2S 5000mah lipo. Just ran it around in the house. Don't want to put the first gouge in the chassis just yet.....

Will be ordering a lexan body and wing, and need to find wing buttons and wing wires (probably just make up the wing wire).

So here she is.

Any thoughts about putting the servo in the correct location?

I kind of like it at an angle, it's different. Plus I figure the extra holes look a little less upsetting if they're actually use for something.

Just a thought. If I were going to run this, I would use the Thunder Tiger wheels and tires or convert a couple of parts to use the B4 stuff. Those original new tires are getting very hard to find and expensive. But to each is own. I have a hard time not running mine with the originals like I did back then.

It's going to be a shelfer, just wanted to see it run around the house for a while. No way I'm putting the first mark in the bottom of this chassis...

You had me worried for a minute

I started a post about a couple of weeks ago on tips for storing vintage RC vehicles. To keep the tires from going flat I use Duratrax Pit stand, to protect from dust, moisture and the suns UV and put the RC10 inside of a 4x ziplock bag. This is fairly low cost, and easy way to keep them like new. Hope this helps. Limestang

Congrats on the great find! I just bought a really nice cadillac edition from craigs list last weekend. I plan on building a shelf queen out of it. I was planning on using s mechanical speed control but I like the futaba ESC you put in yours. Is that ESC from the late 80's? I would like to put something in from the same time period as the car itself.

I can't find any concrete info on the Futaba MC112B esc, but I've read anything from 1989 to 1991 as the release year. Close enough for me. I also have the mint condition mechanical resistor control in a baggie.

Whats the IROC 85ish that is in the back ground?
