So some progress today on the build... Here is a teaser:



And I picked up some shocks, Fronts are .89... The rears are 1.32 I was going to change the rear shock tower and use 1.18 on the back, but have changed my mind. (Thanks Ryan Maifield)



I have discovered that the chassis is bent like a banana... Anyone have a fool proof way of straightening? If not, I may try to find another semi decent gold chassis.

do you have a drill press or a vise? where is the chassis bent? as long as the chassis isn't tweaked in opposite corners (ie, twisted) you can straighten it out decently. find the high spots and bend them back down, slightly past 'flat' so that it flexes back to where you want it. wooden blocks work great for setup.

I have to take all the parts off of it so I can see better where and how its bent. It doesn't look twisted right now. It seems to be bent almost dead in the center if I take a straight edge to the bottom.

If you find it's not straight enough after I have a decent one. I forgot about the ball cups until now too-

if the bend isn't bad, there no real reason you need to do anything. As long as the chassis STAYS that way while racing. nothing really special about being 'flat' other than a frame of reference, as long as you can tune it to the track conditions.

one trick for bends in the middle of the chassis, flexing the tub sidewalls in or out can help straighten it up.

Its bent pretty significantly... I'll try and straighten it... Not going to throw a banana on the track, that is just not how I roll.

Anyway, I have some pics to share from the updates to the car:

V2 Shocks mounted, .89 up front, 1.32 in back... Kyosho Springs, (Got lots, ) Stealth transmission with B4 topshaft installed, need a couple of things to complete the V2 WC slipper... Chassis straightened out pretty good. Decided to add titanium, found some RCPS/Lunsford in runner shape to add and worlds bellcranks:

Looks Good.....suprised you didn't put Big Bore springs on it.

Have to space the front shocks and it puts them at a weird angle.
