Very nice build up.
Love the pics with the white back ground.
The chassis you used is the countersunk version which came out on the Turbo Mid. So have you polished the chassis ? As that version came in a greyish tint from the hardned coating process like the Turbo Ultima. The rest of the alloy looks polished too.
Very nice indeed.

Thanks! White it is. I use a shutter speed and aperture value that always gives RGB, 255, 255, 255 backgrounds so editing does not take that long.
Actually the chassis is a Kyosho OT-91 but someone had it countersunked (is that a word?). I could tell because the holes did not look 100%. I had to fix that so that the holes looked as perfect as my other Turbo Mid chassis I have. Other than that it only had a few scratches which went away with water and sanding.

Thanks! Remember, these parts are from many different cars. I took the best parts for this first build up.

Those shocks look very nice and shiny.
Imagine if Kyosho re-released the Mid, aaaaarrrrhhhhhh (slobbering)

Indeed, the shocks are in very good condition. Some marks in the caps though. They came from a car that was in over all bad shape so I think the previous owner had started a rebuild...
The fact that Kyosho is not releasing older models just makes these projects more fun

Big news!
Got time to paint the body and add the stickers. Not exactly box art but close enough for me. I used a hair dryer on some stickers to get them stay in place. Body is painted with fascolor white and fascolor black (lexan colors for airbrush).
Cheers!

SWEET! Looks Very Nice! I hope mine turns out that good. I am waiting on the body to start my Optima Mid restore as we speak.I ordered new ones but they were too narrow. Also, how did you get the wheels so white?

Top notch - really nice.
Is it an original body or repro - if repro, which one?
Thanks

Take your time and you will be fine. Remember it's just a two-color paint job. I've seen that some even leave the windows clear but I wanted the box art look. Remember that you may have to get a few stickers in place with the help of a hair dryer. I mean those stickers that bends over edges of the body.
I was lucky, my wheels were in this condition. I have another set of white mid wheels that have started "yellowing" a bit and has more scratch marks. I don't know have to save those.
Cheers

This body and decals are repros from a Marwan. Even the OT-66 tires are repros from him. Very happy with his products. I know that Team Bluegroove (TBG) also makes bodies but I have not compared.

Awesome build. Mine and 2other close mates had mid turbo SE, and another had a lwb custom. Few other dudes at our track had miss including a lwb special and then the lazer came out. Mine and 2 of the friends had worlds first custom made carbon shock towers and chassis plates to suit saddle packs. Great cars. Long gone now but a rc 10 and hopefully a dogfighter will be mine soon... Just have to find a doggie.
