RC104ever wrote:FINALLY! It's finished enough to run it - which I did tonight and I must say, I love it already. While it handled about how I expected it to, it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected it to be. I would guess that the modern shocks and aluminum chassis certainly help a lot.

Still have to paint the final shell and install the LED's. Also not happy with the ghetto way the aluminum stinger exhaust is attached but these are all minor details. I'm just waiting for the battery to charge and I will take it to the local park and try it out in the sand there. Maybe I'll terrify a few young kids

Anyways, here's the pics.

Mounted the ESC outside the radio box to avoid it overheating. Not really concerned with water since I know these Castle ESC's are pretty water resistant. Besides, not planning to run it under water, lol.

All the rest of the electronics etc mounted inside.

Castle 4600 brushless. I originally wanted to use a Reedy 3300 but it didn't fit quite right. This was a perfect fit in the re-release gear box but NOT the original gear box, despite my best efforts to modify the original gear box.

Here you can see the aluminum stinger exhaust held on temporarily by two zip ties. The issue here is that the screw holes on the exhaust aren't deep enough or even threaded. Haven't really figured out how to fix that part but don't really care right now either.

Comments are welcome! Thanks to Goldrush for selling me his Scorcher - I used a lot of the parts to get this one going. :)
Congratulations!!! Good job done ! :D I like the "Bug" !0 of 10

Well I took it out on what I can only term a highly successful run at the local park in the sand. Man that's fun! I was spraying sand everywhere, too bad there weren't any kids around to appreciate it, lol.

I ran out of power after about 5 mins though so I will just have to charge it and go back for pics.

I'm also really glad I took the time to muck with the radio box since it did seem to protect the servo and battery nicely. The ESC and LED control box were up high enough that no sand got on them at all.
