Picked up a few things from Victory in Pasadena, Texas.
Russell is a good guy.
Also have stuff coming from Avid, Tower, etc...

Looks like your on the right track! I do think you have a RC10 Team Car, unless it was a gold CE that you put a black chassis and Team shocks on? Sweet car none the less!

I believe you may be right.
The car is right out of the box with Lett's turnbuckles.

Sweet car there, looks nicely tuned and ready to hit the track actually! Is the chassis slotted on the sides? I'd love a closer and better defined pic. Have fun with it!

Cliff Lett had his own company called RCPS and they made titanium turnbuckles, mostly with a square hex. The ones on the car I think are Tecnacraft, I think????

Any thoughts on shock setups?
Weight oil? Springs?
I haven't race in over 20+ years so I have no idea what the track even looks like.
It's in the upper 90's though so I'm thinking the shock oil needs to be a little heavy.

That weird the car came like that right out of the box.

The chassis seems to have some slots milled into it. Did you do that BITD?

I don't remember doing it but we are talking 20 years ago.

Went racing last Saturday.
Had lots of trouble.
Diff bolt broke during practice.
Bought a new bolt kit and rebuild the diff.
Bolt backed out during the first qualifier.
Apparantly I did something wrong on setting the diff., I also didn't break it in at all.
I did manage to finish the 2 qualifier several laps down.
Missed the 3rd qualifier as I'm not completely up to speed on the new format.
During the break before the main I found a cracked front arm so I parked it not wanting to cause more damage.

Got home and pulled the trans out.
Found the slipper pad toasted.
Got on you tube and found several diff/slipper vids.
Vids showed me I was installing the spring on the wrong side.
Rebuild the diff again, broke in the diff and set the diff and slipper according to the vids.
Much better, the car flips over backwards when accelerating on carpet now...LOL

Ordered new arm among other things...

Now for what I was trying to accomplish.
I was able to see the car but more important I was able to see other cars.
I was able to avoid collisions, evade the leader when passed and was able to run a few good lines.
The car is way out of date for the current race tracks but I was able accomplish my goal.

To sum up, it was very hot but I had a good time.
Got help from other racers, I was even able to help a few people.

Thanks for the site and all the help.
Michael
