thought so 2.40 only. Thanks mate, i remeber when is searched the diff gears were different tooth count. I even think i emailed custom works about it but recently our hard drive died and none of my family is computer savvy so couln't check there answer.

Well maybee not the right thing to do. I took dremel with a drum sander and enlarged the sleath 2.25 rings ID to fit the custome works out drives. Then laided them flat on 800 grit paper to clean up the burrs.

if they fit and line up with all the diff balls at once, it's perfectly fine. do they fit inside the 2.25 diff gear without modification?

Another way to go would be to buy some of the 2.4 rings and grind the outside diameter. I bolted the outdrives together with just the rings and spun them by hand against a bench grinder. Seemed to work okay.

Stock 2.25 outdrives and diff only. Try Customworks RC or Dynotech racing, they both had Customworks 2.25 (stealth copies) left and rights last time I looked.
Which customworks cars used the 2.25 diff?
