i guess i'm in the middle of the build now, just finished the steering/servo saver setup.

i gotta say this is one heck of a kit. really well done, but a terrible manual. the cad images are so dark in places that you can't see the detail. and there is zero text. not a big complaint but i can imagine that a person new to building kits would be very overwhelmed.

fit and finish is excellent, almost too tight but not. the diff's are killer, love the way the entire gearboxes come out with ease.

can't wait to finish it, almost want to have someone paint it for me, it's too nice for my efforts.

i used to say the same thing, the batteries were one of the things that kept me from the class, but a free car changes that a bit.

yea money is tight a free car would be nice. anyone see someone run a b44 with a stick pack? ive seen people put stick pack in and it fit but noone said anything about running it like that or if the body will fit.

i "finished" it up last night, save for paint and wiring. such a cool build, kinda sad it's pretty much done.

Although I haven't tried it , have seen people use stick pack's in the XX4 with the electronics mounted on the opposite side .

Just completed my B44.1 and wouldn't you know, he 44.2 gets released! FML!!!!


Raced it the first time on Tue at a club race. Nothing broken. made a Fr shock adjustment. I just need to tweak my ESC and radio settings and get the car a bit more dialed. I also want to get some better saddle packs. First "kit" I put together in quite a few years. I was really impressed with the build quality and the manual. (Far cry from the RC10 6gear days...)

Still trying to decide if I should buy the new B44.2. I guess it depends on the future of Indoor Offroad in my area. The local track may be closing and its future is up in the air. We'll see.

i just got some new turnigy nanotechs, 5100mah saddles ($56.00) and 5300 sticks($50.00). they are 65-130c and are the "punchiest" batts i have used to date. i was using 4500mah 40c turnigy's and was happy with them, but damn these nanotechs are really nice for the $$.

I got this build nearly complete but cant bring myself to run it. I think I would love to run a B44 though.

And, I've certainly never been to the vonats, BUT would love to go! My lack of work schedule hinders all things in my social life. My wife competes for every minute I'm home too, which makes it hard to even spend the afternoon at the local track. She needs a boyfriend or something, lol, just kidding, that would suck hard......no puns needed there, eh!

the vonats are a great place for a non racer to race, we're there to talk and hang out, the racing is just an excuse to get together!

its true..about a year ago i looked a my friends xx4 that he stoped using cause of saddle packs. when he took the electronics out i stuffed a stick pack in the 1 side and he started to use it again. parts are a pain so i pass on that car and all losi cars too

That's some beautiful paint work there!

I had aprehension about running the Lazer this year, but it was so much fun to race it! A few race "wounds" just helps to give it a little character.
You might swap out the shocks with some Associated's. You'll quickly find out the true engineering genius behind "self bleeding shocks"....

As far as 4WD buggy racing, it is very fast and very fun. Unfortunately here locally, nobody will ante up and either buy one to run OR run what they already have.

Pete, did the Durango come with aluminum inner A-arm hinge pin mounts? If you have never run 4WD before, it might be a good investment.

I haven't updated any photos of this buggy since then, but I did get some AE shocks for it. And, that's again Reggie for the rear shocks

here are a couple photos of how it is. I need a new motor because the one that's sitting in it is fried (was in an Axial Wraith on 3s lipo ) and I need a saddle pack and ready to go.

it's the "r" version so it did not, i did get a set of front alloy hinge pin braces though along with an alloy servo saver arm.

holy tight wiring batman! it came out really well, i just wich i had the crimpers and ends to shorten the servo/esc/transponder wires.

i've got it set up with 10k front diff oil, 5k rear. 35wt oil up front, stock pistons, 30wt rear, stock pistons. just need to get it painted and then it's time to go racin'!

Last week I won the mod 4wd buggy points championship at my home track. It was a ten race series that came down to the final race and one point. I had 2-wins, 2-TQs, 2-2nds and 3-3rds. I'm pretty stoked, it's my first big award since getting back into racing two years ago. I also finished 5th o.a. in 2wd buggy.
