I will take some more pictures to show the belt and other areas. I do plan on painting wheels black on this as no way to bring back those chromies.
thanks for help.

It looks like a Trinity (could be wrong) upper lay shaft 'solid' unit doing away with the top diff.
I have fitted polished AE bottom loading dampers on a couple of my early Schueys and they fit the bill nicely.
Even if you don't get this thing up to premium shelf quality it would be worth adding some lexan with radio gear and enjoy running it. I have my runner kitted out with the factory 2.0" tall spikes to keep with the cars very original 'feel'.

You can remove the chrome with acetone and a tooth brush. You'll be surprised with the outcome.

The belt looks so slack I suspect it's a normal length one. IIRC the SWB belts are hard to find.

Those are one way driveshafts - very fragile. If you're intending on running it, I would suggest you replace them with standard ones. For a shelf queen though, they're great to have.

I dont really have anywhere to run anymore, so where most of my stuff doesnt reach "shelf queen" status most does sit on shelf
So maybe what I do is find a XL or XLS ? chassis. I also havent seen new lexan for the SWB so maybe LWB is the way to go with this one.

Your belt is the 323 belt (item # T152) for XL, XLS and the Procat. The SWB belt is the 298 (item # T128). The one ways are cool! is there a diff up front?

Mr Lexan does a great SWB body set too. It would be my pick of the bunch.

that fybre-lite chassis is super cool but $120 CAN is a bit steep for me.

Depending on the angle of the pics early CATS are kinda deceiving but I am pretty sure that is an XLS and not a SWB CAT. The Saddle pack chassis would not be an option for the SWB car as nothing else would fit in the car (especially the size of electronics back then).
A couple of other dead giveaway signs are the extra holes on the gearbox plates to change the angle of the rear top arm. The XLS also had a front differential as standard whereby the SWB was primarily a solid spool with one ways. Turnbuckles are standard items on the XLS whereas the SWB just had threaded rods. Another way of confirming is on the XLS there is a brass sleeve the plastic steering bellcranks pivot on, the SWB bellcranks pivoted on a 3 mm bolt. Belt length as someone mentioned earlier of course.
The widening is done correctly as per XLS whereby early widening mods used cut down front shock towers. Also, the front shock towers on the SWB were 0 degree if you look from the side of the car the shocks absorbers are dead straight upright, the XLS had a slight lean towards the back. The more obvious are the chrome wheels and the black bumper which were standard XLS items.
If you pull the rearbox apart I would say you have a drum diff option (based on the solid layshaft fitted) which simplified things alot. Hope this helps

The front uprights/shock towers are XLS. The SWB and XL were a different mold altogether.
No doubt this car has been stripped and rebuilt as most of the screws have been swapped out for 'phillips' drive so this car could be a little bit of a 'mash up'.
Still an interesting car all the same
