I was just taking a little break from rc for a while. Mostly due to the fact that money had been tight lately, but also so I could focus on other things for a while. Then last week I finally got myself motivated to clean and organize my hobby room and in the process of doing that I got the bug again. I wasn't totally gone either,I have been stopping by from time to time to skim through the happenings, just haven't been posting since I wasn't really doing Any rc stuff myself. I am looking forward too getting back into some of my projects that have been neglected, so you will probably be seeing a lot more of me now. I apologize in advance for that.

I chose not... here is my runner now. It took a while to secure some of the right items that I wanted/needed....

Added RC Carbon Works shock towers, I like! Added Associated B44 Rear CVDs, B4 rear hubs with the extensions, FT turnbuckles and an upgraded steering rack. Stealth tranny with a 13.5T motor - nice! I like XP servos! I love the stance of this thing. I still have a few more little tweaks to do it, but it is a little screamer already with just playing with it in the driveway. Next stop is the track!

Looks good. You could rotate the motor to a different set of holes to reduce the angle of the sensor & motor wires.

Get that bad boy on the track and show them plastic fantastic cars whats up.

Love this site man, its a lot of fun.

I hit the track tonight for open practice. Wow! This buggy hit the track running. It hooked up and just seemed to float and rip around the track. I was truly amazed and extremely elated with how well it did! There were many people that stopped me and asked if it was an original gold pan and then they asked about how did you make those wheels work. They carried on about how they have an old RC10 laying around at home just collecting dust. This might have given them hope.

At any rate, I was about the only buggy on the track that was doing better than everyone else out there. Long story short..... This buggy is competitive and will hold its own. Very cool!

My RC10 worlds car did just as good as well. Very cool yet again.

looking great, what hubs did you use for the b44 rear cvd conversion? did you mill them out or just drop them in as is? Are the bones bottoming out in the out drives before the suspension fully compresses?

I am using B4 rear hubs and yes, I did have to drill them out a bit for the hinge pin. Not a big deal really. I can see where the bones might touch in the out drive, but this is not an issue for me. At least not that I can tell nor did I feel anything on the track by it acting different.

Are you building up a vintage runner? Let me know if you have any more questions that I may assist you with.

If the 'A' stamp tub is in great shape, save it for a later project for the shelf. The existing dyed parts can then be moved over to a used ebay tub. Then you'd have your runner, and also have a good 'A' stamp ready for a future project intended for the shelf...

You can cover the bottom of the chassis with clear packing tape if you want to keep it from getting scraped up.
