Looks awesome! I run the newer gear cover as well. I just drilled and tapped the bottom hole in the engine plate and it works great!

Is that a B4 gear cover?
"uniquenamehere" - did you also drill the motor plate for this gear cover?
If not, what mods did you make for the cover to fit?
(I also have a Stealth with a B4 shaft, I need a proper cover...)

Yah, that's a B4 gear cover. The top hole will fit the stealth motor plate. Like BajaDale said the bottom hole needs to be drilled and tapped. I will post more pictures once I have done that!

Another small update, I pulled out the drill and opened up the holes for the hinge pins. Amazingly I didn't mess anything up.
I've got an order of bearings on the way, as well as an ESC from brushlesshobbies.com. Quite a ways away from running this thing however. As if moving from Munich back to Ontario (Canada eh!) we bought a house and we're again moving (hopefully for the last time for a few years) which will be great. Be nice to work in the mans basement!
I need to track down a shock rebuild kit for the team car shocks that I have... I might try the LHS... *ahem* unless someone here as one...

I have been using the B4 gear cover on mine with just the one screw without any problems. But when you drill it, make sure you have a nice sharp drill bit. Its close to the edge and you don't want it to walk on you.

Got a few new things in the mail. New ESC, and some bearings!
I still need to purchase outer hub bearings for the B4 hubs. I didn't realize that they take larger ones. I might buy a few extras for the stealth transmission and new diff balls as well to make it worthwhile.
I got some B4 wheels coming thanks to another member here as well...things are slowly taking shape.

So I picked up some ball ends and nuts that I ordered at a LHS which allowed me to install my tie rods. I'm not sure of the lengths for my specific application so I just eyeballed it right now. I'll have to figure out a way to give it a good alignment without expensive tools once my wheels arrive.
Still trying to track down some body posts, and battery box. I have an unused battery box from my old RC10 (see it here in all it's glory!:
http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=28679), but I'm not sure I want to use it on this one.
The ball bearings in the steering make a huge difference, but I need to shorten the ball ends that I'm using because they rub against the nose plate as it turns. I might put a washer at the bottom of the steering posts to lift the steering arms up a bit too.
Still need to (inhale deep breath):
- Rebuild shocks/diff,
- Order new hub bearings/diff balls,
- Acquire motor (suggestions anyone? Nothing too crazy...was thinking 17.5 turn),
- Countersink stealth transmission holes,
- Shorten steering ball ends,
- Find battery box (or alternative) and drill necessary holes for it,
- Find body posts,
- Find a body (possibly turbo mirage - i know, i can hear you "*yawn* do something original..." anyone have any inspiration?) and paint it,
- Find a wing and all necessary hardware.

Looks good! Where abouts in Ontario are you? I'm in Mississauga, about 5 minutes from Sid's Raceway.

I'm in the Kitchener/Waterloo region... not too far from Mississauga.
Never heard of Sid's Raceway... must look it up!

Very nice looking so far! The green ball cups look a bit odd on there but the rest is sexy!
