yes, i do understand & i'm hoping that I don't injure it...I already put contact paper on the bottom to help protect against scratches. I haven't hurt it any and hope not to. I'm the one driving this one and I am driving it lightly... My main focus is really trying to get 5 cars that are operational, so that I can play with my son & his friends....father/son, bonding. $100 a car doesn't sound like a lot, until you factor in, needing 5 operational cars and replacement parts
It's really not in the budget to go out and buy all good "runners". The kids don't have much fun, watching it sit on the shelf 
I do apologize to those that feel a "pain" knowing that this is going out and running....but, you do what you gotta do.
