Nylon is normally very responsive to Rit dye, these are a new set of white Tamiya rims dyed with Rit powder (whole box in ca 1 litre of boiling water, immersed for 4 minutes with agitation, then washed off in cold water)..

My first attempt with Rit dye and pleased with the result.

I have some yellowed Kyosho wheels which will be getting the peroxide treatment shortly - hope I have the same level of success with those.

Those look great!! One thing to note is that the longer they are in the dye the deeper it penetrates, to a point. That's why I boil for 10-15 minutes for a deep color and better scratch resistance

I finally got around to adding a temperature control to my fry daddy. Just a cheap infinite switch from a stove. Holds a pretty nice boil now without having to manually cycle it.

Now where did that pink dye go?! :mrgreen:
