i've disassembled and cleaned the parts on my other rc10 (it's the guinea pig before i tear down my personal rc10). it's not immaculate by any means, but it's certainly better.
i ordered a set of bearings from avid to replace all the bushings. so far i have been unable to get the "C" clips out of the axle gears, but i'll keep trying. the steering bellcrank was messed up, but i saw a mod on here using the traxxas bellcrank, so i'm gonna try that out. i ordered a hitech hs-645mg servo for it based on positive comments here on the board.
for the guinea pig buggy, since it's not totally stock i'm gonna take flip's advice and use some modern tech on it.
i saw these esc's:

anyone have any experience or thoughts on it? or, for $5 more, there's this one:
http://www.brushlesshobbies.com/LT4-120A-Brushless-ESC-Sensorless-Sensored-with-USB-FlashProgrammer_p_113.html
they both seems reasonably priced. are they overkill?
