TBG bodies aren't bad. the trim lines are almost non existant and the AE logo in the tail gate lacks the crispness of the original. But other than that they are quite good I think.

K-town, you should repop that Dahms Rammer body if it didn't sell. I always keep my eyes out for them, or slammers.

Shhh. I'm trying very hard not to overlap the sites. I What do you mean repop the body? how would I do that?

In real world the replacement panels are called repops so the name just kind of stuck. Basically he fills the body with a casting material, peels off the original body (destroyed in the process) and then can use the buck to pull new lexan bodies. There is much more to it than that, but that's the basic idea

If you send him one original body, he sends you back 3 of the reproductions and you get 50% off a purchase if you want other bodies as well. I have sent bodies I don't want back, and got 3 different bodies as a credit. You reach him via eBay and ship to a USA PO box, then he gets them across the border to Canada.

Thats what I thought. He filled up the body with a material and made a template. Then using the template, a vacume machine, and heated lexan, he molds new bodies.

One of my worst fears is that someone is going to start repoping entire rc-10's or t's. Then we can watch our beloved rc's value go into the toilet. Just think about the Tamiya bruiser. A few years ago the originals were going upwards of $1000. now you can get a nice original one for under $400.

Due to the sheer volume of RC10's produced I don't think they'll ever be quite valuable. New in box, unbuilt or rare kits on the other hand will always be more valuable. White stuff will also go up as the supply dries up, unless someone starts molding it again.

Those are the ones I'm talking about. For example, it's pretty safe to say that a sealed nib RC-10t team truck is worth $1000. Say AE started making a exact reproduction for $390. The value of the original would go down to probably around $500. But I do have to admit, man that would be sweet if you could go to the hobbyshop today and buy a brand new first gen. RC-10T. I would buy one. Then I could say I have bought two new rc's in my lifetime. :D

oh, and the owner of all the original dahm's molds would love it if someone repopped his bodies.

layin' the the sarcasm on thick there. just a heads up.

 Sarcasm is ok. Sorry, I wasn't trying to be a jerk about the body. Some times my RC-10 passion gets in the way. I just don't like the reproduction thought. Personally, if I made some sweet aftermarket bodies, even if it was 20+ years ago, I would be upset to see someone else making my bodies. But thats just me.

Over the past winter busy season I seen a in the bags unsealed truck go for around $750. and a sealed one go for over a grand and it was a sport. I personally sold a never ran team truck put together with the box, instructions, sealed skinnys and cut sticker sheet for $500.

really, i can't say i've ever seen a 10t over $500 on ebay. though i don't care for them so i don't pay much attention to them.

i couldn't find the rant, but the guy made it perfectly clear he better not see any repops of his bodies.

I'm curious to see someone send TBG a dahms body to repro to see what how the wanker reacts.

i think the reason i can't find his "proclomation" is do to the colorful way he presented it. meaning, it was edited or the whole thing was deleted. i don't remember exactly what he said though.

It will be interesting. I am sure it will happen one day. When I spoke to Jonathan he said that he has Been assured by his attorney that there are no problems copying Dahns body's. He said the only issues would be copying decals. I am not sure why that is, I am just repeating what I heard. Like I say, it will get interesting one day

Who has the Dahms molds now MrLex?

Why did Ira stop making bodies and whats the story with Van's Invent. They shut up shop as quick as they started selling bodies.

I would love a couple more Dahms bodies.
