Refurbish and painted:

Few parts were changed like piston head, shock collars, spring retainers, aluminium caps, tires, gear covers, slipper pads,...
I protected the chassis with a teflon sheet from Jconcept. Periodic electronics with a 2,4ghz receiver into an old futaba. Trinity Monster 3 rotors (16x2 ???)

That is a really cool buggy. I'm very curious too see how it performs. I've been looking for a nice vintage Traxxas to race.

Wow, you weren't kidding about that. That *is* one ugly body! :x

The one on Rc4on's car is much more appealing.

You can see this TRX during a french vintage rc meeting :

The car is very efficient and capable to race with younger racer. I better like driving him than my Tamiya TRF201 ;-)

I love see the work of front suspension

your Rad is... rad  like pretty much all the stuff you do! I've had one (traxxas, white) in the pipeline for ages... one day...

I couldn't make it to La Vosgienne as the dates weren't lining up properly, shame as I'd have been delighted to meet you David!

If you're going to run this regularly, can I recommend you get the alloy outdrives... the spare plastic ones won't last long even with a mabuchi...

Keep up the good work :) gonna go have a look at your website right away, btw :D

Wow. I have not had time to read all of this. All I know is it's a glittery graphite Eagle chassis with magnum transmission and the rest is history. IMO, this is a TRX-0.5. This is truly an awesome buggy. I can't wait to watch the vids. Awesome post / thread / find / build. Totally Rad!

Same design as the RAD2 but with the Eagle's Graphite Chassis and fantastic "Hot Pink" rims.
There's also a "Graupner Radicator 2" with a different body and chassis.

I think you speak about this one :

Congratulations on your race result!
I was a fan of the rad2 from the first minute. Except for the wide front bulkhead and short front arms it had all the Good available in those days. Ps: Better shocks would have been nice ofcourse... The body is actually really nice in person. Here is mine, covering an ultima.
