That is a really cool buggy. I'm very curious too see how it performs. I've been looking for a nice vintage Traxxas to race.

Wow, you weren't kidding about that. That *is* one ugly body!
The one on Rc4on's car is much more appealing.

You can see this TRX during a french vintage rc meeting :

The car is very efficient and capable to race with younger racer. I better like driving him than my Tamiya TRF201
I love see the work of front suspension

your Rad is... rad

like pretty much all the stuff you do! I've had one (traxxas, white) in the pipeline for ages... one day...
I couldn't make it to La Vosgienne as the dates weren't lining up properly, shame as I'd have been delighted to meet you David!
If you're going to run this regularly, can I recommend you get the alloy outdrives... the spare plastic ones won't last long even with a mabuchi...
Keep up the good work

gonna go have a look at your website right away, btw

Thanks a lot for your comment. I noted for the alloy outdrives, easily found on ebay

Maybe next year we will meet and share a good time at "La vosgienne"

Wow. I have not had time to read all of this. All I know is it's a glittery graphite Eagle chassis with magnum transmission and the rest is history. IMO, this is a TRX-0.5. This is truly an awesome buggy. I can't wait to watch the vids. Awesome post / thread / find / build. Totally Rad!

This cars were imported by Graupner (Germany) and MRC (France) They were called "Radicator"for Graupner and "Vitto" for MRC. They were two versions: the "Standard" with MSC no ball bearing, no slipper and ball diff. The second called "Expert" with full options but no electronic.
Same design as the RAD2 but with the Eagle's Graphite Chassis and fantastic "Hot Pink" rims.
There's also a "Graupner Radicator 2" with a different body and chassis.
I think you speak about this one :

Well now I have my foot in my mouth. Since I seen these pictures I fell In love with this buggy... And now a owner of one. Got an amazing deal on one off eBay. Can't wait for it to get here.

My Rad still perform well.
I won the French VONATS (4x2) in june with it.
Only put inside brand new electronic with brushless 13.5 motor and 2.4Ghz transmiter. Add JC Racing wheels with proline 2.2 tires.

Congratulations on your race result!
I was a fan of the rad2 from the first minute. Except for the wide front bulkhead and short front arms it had all the Good available in those days. Ps: Better shocks would have been nice ofcourse... The body is actually really nice in person. Here is mine, covering an ultima.
