Yeah it was on sale for around $16 and now I don't get yelled at for screwing up the kitchen. I plug it in and bring to a boil, drop parts in and unplug for about 3 minutes. Plug back in until boil, cool for 3. After about the 3rd boil the parts are perfect.

Screwing up the kitchen.....I hear that, after the kitchen re-do, dying parts was a no go, So when I ever need to dye parts now, its in the garage on a portable cooking range, with a old deep pot, works great, takes a little longer, but no problems, royal blue, and black is all I've ever done, nice even colour.

Paint a viper body pink and call it a day
Red is probably still an option for dye. I trust you know to take the parts out of the dye before they reach the desired color.

I just use the burner on the side of my gas grill.

I use a Stainless steel frying pan only way to get it clean is with 400 grit wet and dry sandpaper good as new, scouring pad won't make a dent in removal.
I dyed over the yellow with rit tangerine came out orange, some white wheels came out nice.
