NASCAR started to lose it years ago. There success in the 80's and 90's gave them huge egos where they thought they could do no wrong. In an effort to spread their country wide domination, they added tracks that never should have been added to the schedule. When their racing started to s*ck, they changed the rules to make certain manufacturers competitive (more so than in the past). They added the horrible car of tomorrow which in my opinion was one of the worst things that ever happened to the sport, followed by the Chase for the Cup as the second worst thing. In an effort to attract non-redneck race fans they added a cartoon rodent (Digger?) that popped up during racing that everyone hated (even the kids that it was suppose to attract) and built multi-million dollar careers for drivers who shouldn't be racing at this level as their talent levels aren't there. They added hours of pre-race nonsense chatter and concerts before the race that the average TV viewer could care less about (I'm so glad they tell you the actual start times so you can skip the pre-race). The tv coverage spends more time talking about a driver in 25th place and four laps down than the drivers battling for 3rd & 4th place. With all this said and the team orders fixing of races, is it a surprise that most NASCAR fans don't go or watch the races any more?

I agree with all that but the chase. I remember quite a few times before the chase that the champion could be crowned with a bunch of races left. How much excitement was that? Before the free pass there were times that only the top 10 or less were on the lead lap. After all its about cars going fast in close proximity for me. I leave the soap opera stuff to the wife.

Yea I miss # 3 as well, loved his chrome horn attitude! Some may hate me, but my driver is Kyle Busch!

He started with RC cars and even worked for Hobby Town USA in LV, plus he drives a Toyota!

Mostly, he's a great driver!
Back in the day I liked Jeff Gordon but feel he has lost his courage, almost like something has scared him. I don't remember him having a life threatening crash or anything?

If Kyle would just live with what he has he would be a champion...What I mean about that is if he has a 5th place car accept that and finish 5th...He has calmed down a lot since he went full on retard during that truck race...Toyota coming in still leaves a bad taste in my mouth...I like imports as long as they are European...

I love Toyota because the cars/trucks have never let me down, even when beating the crap out of them! I have had Dodge, Ford and GM vehicles, and they have all failed me!

I like reliable and high resale value! They are not number one for nothing!

After all of those recalls I think Honda may have leap frogged past Toyota

I luv my domestic products but I have to admit the best car I ever owned is a Geo Metro...That is the only car that has NEVER let me down...I also have a Ford Taurus which has been very good to me and the wife...

depending on the report, what time of year it is (qtr) the #1 car company could be gm, vw or toyota. in the past 4 years they have all held the top spot at different times. although gm has slid quite a bit, vw and toyota seem like they are playing tennis with the top spot.

I would bet at 5 years old the Toyota and GM will hold a much higher resale than the VW. Once the some cars get out of warranty and to a place you have to replace worn out stuff the maintenance costs ruin them.

Just heard Napa dropped MWR

they said they don't believe in the shenanigans.
"After thorough consideration, NAPA has made the difficult decision to end its sponsorship arrangement with Michael Waltrip Racing effective December 31, 2013. NAPA believes in fair play and does not condone actions such as those that led to the penalties assessed by NASCAR. We remain supportive of the millions of NASCAR fans and will evaluate our future position in motorsports."
Wow, bye bye 15 million a year
