Well.... How modified are you going? You could pick up a stainless screw kit and not need to touch the stock screws, graphite shock towers... and not need to touch that bag, big bore shocks... same thing.

If you pick up TBG body and wing and enough 'hop ups' you could theoretically keep most of it sealed in their bag. You mentioned going 5 link

losi pro se towers
xx retro transmission
5 link using rpm heavy duty parts
pro-se front arms/rpm front bulkhead
ball bearing bellcranks
titanium turnbuckles and rpm black ballcups
stainless/titanium screws
titanium hinge pins

and then just get the sticker sheet reproed by a local print shop and you could nearly have the complete kit still and a junior 2

I've started to build it over the weekend (build photo's to follow) but there are a few bits I need (and am waiting for) so progress will be a bit slow. Mind you, I'm not in a rush to finish it....the chances of me building another NIB Losi are statistically very low indeed!

I will be replacing all the bushings with bearings and also opting for the LRM slipper shaft (A3120) so that I can fit XX spurs - the stock spur is 32dp!

I really want to do a 5-Link conversion but I'm now not sure if the Jr.2 body will clear the extra width created by the side bulkheads. Can anyone help with this?

Progress so far....which is in fact not much due to lack of parts that I want to use. However, that should be rectified soon with shipments due in from Wheelspin Models and OLDRC!
Sitting here over the weekend starting this build brought back all sorts of memories from my first Kyosho Raider with a MSC, through to my Ultima Pro, Topcat and finally the XX, not to mention a few others in between!

I loved my bright orange Mardave Ministock, it was great in a local multi-storey carpark - all that lovely flat concrete...

However, I digress......

I want to stick with Losi parts mainly and use other 'parts' where absolutely necessary, like the RR FG side bulkheads (or RPM), Lunsford Ti turnbuckles as the Tecnacraft ones seem near impossible to find and maybe some other RPM parts - all depends on what's available. I also like the original 5-spoke JRX2 and JRX-Pro 'Logo' wheels so I'll be sticking with them. Since this build will (sadly) be a shelfer, modern tyres will not be a problem.

What a joy to see these new parts coming together! It reminds me of when I built up my 'almost' new JRX2 a while ago.

I think this kit has had several rounds on ebay.uk, so its good to see it finally go to a good home!

I'm also unsure if there is enough clearance between the chassis & the inside of the shell for the trailing arms of the five link - the Jr2 shell does look wider than the ProSE who's chassis didn't have the provision for the 5-link mounts;

I wonder why no one else bought it? Finding the kit on eBay was as a result of searching "Losi Junior" for the first time so it was obviously meant to come to me! A good home, yes but sadly it'll never get run, I'll leave that aspect to my original XX.

Seeing this photo has made me re-think my plans for this build. I may just stick to using the H-arms for the time being which will certainly keep the costs down and alsoallow me to finish the build much quicker.

The junior 2 uses a different chassis than the pro se/lxt. The junior chassis is the same dimensions as the jrx pro but molded instead of a flat plate.

The junior chassis is very very close to the se/lxt chassis actually, the outer edge is removed, a few more holes for wheelbase adjustment are added, and the tail of the chassis is lengthened a bit also for wheelbase adjustment. They also milled out under the battery and in the sidepods.
(paper used to hide one of the side sections of the junior chassis.)

That being said, you could easily make a graphite chassis pro-se by removing that much off the sides of the pro/jrxt chassis or transform a junior chassis into a pro-se chassis by cutting that same amount off

I also think a junior 2 body should work with just a little work with the 5 link, while the jrx2 body does flare out a bit over the links, the links do stay in fairly tight to the chassis.

A little bit of an update on the Jr.2 build.....

AE diff lube and black grease.... ....grease is grease, right?
This is the later diff centre gear with bearing and diff balls in place. However, after trying to get the diff to operate correctly, I had to revert back to the standard centre gear. The two 1/4" x 3/8" bearings that I used must be the wrong thickness because all that happened was the diff would not function as a diff should, it just seemed to bind up. Any ideas???
Completed LRM diff using the standard centre gear - just waiting on the bearings.
Some new parts from Sabulatech.....plus one from eBay.
The GF Pro-SE front shock tower installed to allow the use of the shorter front shocks. The standard Jr.2 shock tower is way too... flexible!
I'm hoping that the Pro-SE rear shock tower will accommodate the Jr.2 body without any cutting/ trimming issues.
I opted for the later swept A-arms as they do not flex!
The Pro-SE swept A-arms are made of a composite material unlike the standard nylon(?) arms that came with the kit.
Just waiting on some more bearings so that I can finish off the gear-box.

I seem to recall those center bearings being a "thin" bearing....let me see what I can dig up

Yes the Junior body will work fine with those towers. I have one that I used on my Pro SE many years ago.
