Looking at putting electronics in this thing too. So far the only thing I've found that I can work with is the steering servo. Turnigy MG959 v2 has an aluminum case that can be polished up. I'm not sure about a receiver, ESC, or motor yet. You guys can see what I'm going for so far so I'd be open if you have any suggestions on those items.

novak had a chrome plated receiver.

I'd look for an esc that has a big old heatsink you can remove and de-anodize and polish up externally.

a motor with aluminum endbells would probably be your best bet, or just a stock type motor with no label so its chrome.

If your going brushless...

Both my Orion R10 and LRP Flow have aluminum cases and heat sinks, either one should polish up nicely.

I just want to see more sexy pictures of naked alloy. What are you doing for castor blocks and steering arms? Rims?

Right now, im waiting on parts for the front wheels. I'll be doing the live axle with an onboard carrier from strc that I had to drill out on the inside. I'm waiting on some hinge pins from Amain and bearings from avid. The same rod ends I have for the caster will be for the steering linkage. Im waiting on some metal spacers from mcmaster and I'll need to modify 2 rod ends to work for the center linkage.

hopefully all my orders should arrive thursday or friday so I can put more together this weekend.

just a side note, looking at strc's website, an sc10 4x4 rear hub carrier might have been a better choice for the rear wheels as it doesnt look to widen the rear.

order from Amain, Mcmaster carr, and avid came in. Test fit the the front end together. The front axle needed more modification to work b/c the king pin hit it. All i need now is a small spacer for the axle.

I modified 2 rod ends to be slightly shorter so they would work for the middle link.

what defines the difference between a hard pack and soft pack for batteries. I'm creating a battery cover with a 2x1x0.14" channel and after cutting it to length. Right now I have a 7.4v 20C 5400 venom battery that fits snugly inside the channel. I think the battery a soft pack but inside this case/cover/heatsink, is it now a hard pack? The battery holder part of the bulkhead will be removed for this to work. I also need to create a solution for holding down the cover.

hard packs are in a plastic casing, soft packs are usually just shrink wrapped.

Dont pic a color.. clear annodize it. The make an eletric turntable for it and build a lighting set up that changes color so it just cycles through numerous colors.
