Hey man, great to find you here. I guess this is how we build things nowadays, it's the same way I do them now - take as much time to do it as nicely as you can.
Back in the day, I threw them together as fast as possible so I could run! I debated long and hard on buying a Re-Re - but I have RC10's, one new gold pan (built but in the box) and I don't even have time to work on those.
Maybe when the worlds comes out I'll do it.

A little progress today, I got my Associated turnbuckles in the mail so I got those on, then put the wheels on. I lied in a previous post...as soon as I put the rear wheels on, I felt the slop in the rear hubs that everyone has been talking about...crapola...guess I need to shoot an email to Associated and see if I can get a replacement pair.

I have to say, even though it might be sacrilege, I do like the look of the black parts on this buggy.

Thanks, I still haven't finished it though. Even the replacement rear hubs that Associated sent were sloppy. I just got some new vintage hubs on ebay so I'll be slop free soon. Then all I have left to do is trim and paint the body...my very least favorite part!

Nice build. I really like the attention to detail
Whats your plan on paint job. Did you have your own race colors?

I'm with you. Painting the body is definitely my least favorite part. Never comes out quite right for me haha.

This is a pic I posted in another thread:
That was my "go to" paint job on all my bodies back then...pink fade to orange fade to yellow.
I may do a OIN someday with a similar but cooler paint job.
I don't think I'm going to do this paint job on this car. I think I'll do more of a box art paint job since I think this car will be more of a very light runner/shelf display.

It’s been awhile since I worked on this car but I came across this cool body in a purchase I got awhile back. I had these OG chrome wheels and motor too, so here it is! I think it looks great!
