The kit ties into the throttle and steering channels with y harnesses. The reason i don't want to use the turn signals is because they come on every time you turn the wheels. Would be cool if you could select them,or even if you could make them so they only come on at a stop, but I don't want them coming on all the time. Also, the reverse lights come on with the brake lights since the reverse/brake signal is the same.

Isn't drifting bizarrely addictive & at the same time quite relaxing!
This is my drifter - its an old Schumacher Axis touring car chassis, left over from my days as a team driver back in the late 90s, i understand that its layout is better than some converted touring cars for drifting, having the motor in the middle... generally the further forward the better? The diffs both front & rear are tightened up as far as I dare & it runs all old skool brushed electrics (inc' Novak 410 ESC) , Nimh batteries & 27mhz radio. There's quite a few drift venues nearby which are often frequented by skater dood type 'Yoofs' in floppy woolly hats who are obviously all full-on into this drifting scene with all the latest chassis & electrics - they did look at me rather funny with my old car & funny TX with its funny stick configuration & super long telescopic aerial.... I think i'm getting old!!

Have you tried playing with the rear diff? From what I have seen, and my limited experience, a locked or very tight rear diff is a must. The more steering angle you can get the better. I am not that familiar with the Tamiyas, but I would think one of them could be turned into a decent drifter.
Other than that, I don't have any personal experience with the purpose built drift cars, but so far I think the TC5R chassis is working great.
My buddy just bought the exceed drift star brushed car. I am really impressed with the quality and value of the car, it's a pretty decent setup for $130 shipped, but it isn't really a purpous built drift chassis, just a tc3 style tc chassis with drift wheels. It's going to take some tweaking to bring out the full potential, but I would recommend it if you just want to start off with something cheap.
yea i thought about lockin the diff but i use it on the local carpet track too.. maybe ill lock the diff on the tt01 if i get a tt02.. love that body your running on that tc5

Yes it is.
Nice car! Next time those young whipper snappers look at your car funny just show them the video of Massami drifting his car using his toes to control his stick transmitter.

Nice.
Is that the ball diff in front or one way? I'm looking for a S2 ball diff pulley, but can't find one anywhere.

Yep, that is a one way in the front and locked spool in the rear. I have not seen the S2 you are talking about. Did they make one specific for the Sprint? I should note, I also have universals on each corner and it now has an all aluminum steering rack too.
Is this the one?

I meant Sprint 2 (S2), but now I realize yours is the Sprint 1. I am not very familiar with HPI's other than the RS4 series. I am just looking for the pulleys for my countersteer setup on my TC5. Thanks for the link. According to the notes that is the same pulley from the S2. I'll have to check some parts numbers etc., but i think that is the one I need. Also need the 15t center pulley, and then figure out what belts to use.

Some more sideways than others...

Nice!
I recognize the sakura, what are the other two? Eagles?
yup pink is a Sakura D3CS
Gold is an Eagle 16FM chassis with Eagle alloy suspension cribbed off the OTA R31
Blue is Tamiya VDF 2... with a few bling hopups.

Oh, that makes sense now. Mine is the Sprint II Flux version. I pretty sure they are all Sprint II's. Mine did not have the front bulkheads opened so I modified mine as they were rock catchers. I also have an RS4 RTR 3 that was converted to SS specs with a .18SS motor.
