The Yeah Racing DB01 front universals arrived today. Parts are labeled with "78.5mm" written on the dogbone. Very good match to the '94 front universals. With the wheel axle pulled all the way out, the dogbone fits nicely into the diff outdrive with plenty of space on either side for droop and compression. Much like the 73mm parts in the rear, the drive pin hole is very close to the outer wheel bearing and so there is no shimming required. Wheel hex fits nicely and a test fit with a Lazer ZX5 FS2 SP front rim looks reasonable.

Bazinga!

I'm thinking I might put this on my '94 runner and try it out for a little while with hex rims. That way, I can save the JC Racing wheels for my Works runner/s.

Ultimately, the JC Racing wheels are the easiest solution. This was more of an experiment than anything else. However, if your universals are blown out and you can't find new ones, then you may need to do something like this.

Easy if you can find them. The problem is finding them. New universals are hard to come by. Again, what I did was more of an experiment to see if it is even possible. It's a real pain to do, but it is possible.

I'm not sure I understand what you are getting at. ZC/ZD 422 and 423 are generally difficult to find. Maybe you have easy access to them? I have my own set of spares, but not every YZ10 owner does.

the thing was that o got 40 sets o something like that of yokomo wheels since they where quite shep
since i didnt have a yokomo i tried to find other solutions to adapt them to my cars ....
cat xls yokomo hubs and lazer zxs ...special hubs for the lazer zxs....
but i really liked the blue suzuki hubs man are they sexy......

so i had to make an axle for the kyosho lazer that i had so 65.5 bones in the front easy to get and 62.5 bones for the rear also easy to get. but the that long axle that have no thereads what so ever just an long axle where do one get that from then ...

from this ..

Image

since the kyosho rt5 doesent use an nut to hold the wheel on the axle there are no threads get it no THREADS

they have an fast wheel thing fastener something going on.....anywhat there are no threads just an long axle

that axle should work well for the rear of the yokomo with the 73 mm bone i think.

Image

so there you go that was i did on my kyosho lazer ....

the rt5 use 84mm bone dont know if its to long for the front but ....

i actually have an yokomo works91 now but havent tested the 84 mm bone mayby some one else ???

You need 74mm in the rear and 79mm up front. I put those measurements on the first page of this thread.

The quick release axles are an interesting idea, though, but the axle will still need to be long enough to fit the wheel hex without the hex binding against the hub carrier and also without resulting in too much play between the hex and the hub carrier. The pin placement (which I assume is for the wheel hex to mount onto) in the picture you show is too far out.

yes but if the 73mm works in the rear of the yz10 it work with this axle also
the pin hole is for the fastener system for the rt5 and yes i have fitted them on my lazer since that was what i made them for and its easy to get the right width with them

if i dont remember there was to much axle for the lazer shall see

shall fit them on my yoke ........

i took an pic and tested them on my yoke no problem but i havent got a bone long enough

would say that they are 6 mm longer then the yoke axle....

btw the arms on the yoko is ridiculus flexy what are the alternativs is it dynotech ?????
