absolute temperature, not the bogus "feels like blah blah blah with windchill" crap. For the Americans, that's about 0°F to -22°F. Welcome to winter in Alberta, where the weather separates the men from the boys.

You tell them! Rookies!

Yes, all the best to you guys that may lose power.
Rookies for sure, that week and some was cold, but bearable. I ride my bike to work every day and I this did not deter me, just add an extra t-shirt and put on some underwear. Good to go!

Freak weather!
We have 40°F and green grass here in Stockholm Sweden. It's been like this the last five weeks. Usually we have around 25-5°F in January/February

The weather patterns have really seemed mixed up this year. Extremely hard to predict too. I've seen more inaccurate forecasts this year than I can ever remember. I'm not necessarily buying into the fact that global warming is changing the Earth's weather patterns, but the way this planet has been treated by us I don't really see how it
couldn't have something to do with all the atmospheric oddities around the world. Or maybe it's just one of those years. Let's just blame El Nino and be done with it...

This reminds me of one of my favorite Chris Farley bits on SNL, when he says "El Nino...that's Spanish for...the Nino."

See You in September plays in my head when I look at my truck.

it rained last night after the foot of snow fell. then it turned back to snow.
so there was a inch of ice under it all, my trusty old tractor (1948 farmall) couldn't push it, just spun. so out came the snowblower again.
all that work just to get to work, so we can sit here and stare at each other. lol

DOH! My car was buried pretty bad last week, right up to the windows but not nearly as bad as that
Only 6 inches last night for us here, the storm missed us I guess
