10 years back I could just have walked into the school lab with these moulds.
Maybe the design schools here have the same equipment

I will ask Tanaka-san for the tomahak body next time we meet.
Maybe he'll see me a repro.

Hello Mr Ed,
I have a friend here in Australia who has the ability to repro vintage bodies from a descent uncut mold. We ahve already done the Schumacher TOPCAT,COUGAR,COUGAR2,PROCAT and now looking at the JRX2 and TURBO SCORPION amongst other things. Are you wanting to pay to get the repro done as the Apache Warrior is a nice body but how many people want them?

I've worked out a deal with tadracket and he thinks he'll be ready to go soon.

The deal is basically I sent the uncut bodies at my expense.
He returns my originals along with 2 repros (of the same car or others he did).
He gets to keep the moulds and can sell the repro's to anyone at whatever price he decides on.
Even if he can sell just 3 orso his cost for the mould and lexan will easily be covered. And he'll have the bodies to himself also :P

The apache warrior and a Triumph are the only ones I have left.

Do you have any pics of the Apache?

I think if anyone made a repro of the YZ10 shells they'd be onto a winner.. Either the Pancake shel or the US spec Protech 4. I have a Hotdog (Protech 4) shell uncut if someone would repro it.

These bodies are definitely in demand though..

Forgot to say:

I also plan to make moulds for some belly pans for those 2 bodies: after they been repro-ed.
I'll make them so they can be used with other cars at choice.

Personally I'd run the cokpit window further back.
You'll have to wait for the pics: repros to be done before I can try.

for those still looking for an optima mid shell (shortwheel base)
I was trying out some ideas and noticed how much shorter the standard mid is compared to my '94 dogfighter.
Here it is mocked up with a parma beetle shell.

Is this a swb mid? I ended up buying the mid custom special body from marwan, but it is too long. Maybe the parma beetle is just the ticket!

It is the swb indeed, and you can tell from the piture I've turned the rear lazer arms so the wheelbase is at its shortest too.
Are you planning to keep the fenders on? The body is probably too short if you do so, though I think real baja bugs often are extended also:

I've put an e-zilla body next to the parma bug at the LHS and they have the same wheelbase btw

i once purchased a swb mid off ebay and it came with a bolink beetle body that fit it really well but i think that body is also rare and valuable to some collectors as it sold for like 65$ lol
one mans trash is another's treasure .i personally cant stand beetle body's.

I' ve been playing around a bit with some recent purchases yesterday and gues what!
The funco single seater mrlexan pulled looks like it would make a real cool body for the optima mid SWB.
Probably would work on a LWB too, but I have no chassis to try.
