Nice! Not a guru, but I think you have .56 and .71 front shocks.

McAllister makes a number of bodies that will work. You will have more options if you trim the front tower as suggested.

Well she's officially completed and I must say she's insanely fast. Not sure why so much faster then before but I guess the motor needed to be rebuilt badly. Anyway, the body I had on it rubs all over and looks like crap. Had to take it off for the test drive. I'll hack it up just to cover up the car to offer some protection but I definitely have to find something better. (she's officially 260mm wide in the front, 235mm wide in the rear with a wheelbase of 270mm.)

I decided that it's going to be tough getting something to work because of the suspension travel - as little as it is...it's still way more than your typical (real) pan car. I was thinking perhaps an old truck body or something...idk. Will think about it more.

New connectors are on, esc dialed in and she ran flawless - no cut outs like before...very happy. A friend with a vintage Tamiya and a brushless lipo setup is talking smack...hopefully I won't embarrass myself! lol (I'll try to get vids!)





The tires work ok - they were real slippery at first but I think they are broke in and it's not too bad. Not as good as old school foam (sponge) tires but they will do for now. If I find a track to race at I'll have to figure something out - don't think they will cut it on a tight road course.

Also just finished my RC10T project (link in sig) so it's nice to have 2 functional, clean cars to drive again. Kyosho stuff already started so more fun in store for me! haa

After tossing on an old original RC10 buggy body and a "The Hot Trick Stuff" wing just for kicks turns out I decided to scrap the full body idea. Ordered up a new Turbo Mirage body. Just got it done today and I'm loving it!!! It fits awesome and looks great. The windows are actually tinted - hard to tell in the pics...was hoping for something a bit lighter but overall I'm super happy.

Officially done I guess...lol. She runs awesome and is super fun. Handles great. Had to switch over to a new transmitter because reception with the old Magnum Junior just wasn't cutting it. Anyway enjoy!

Love the tire/wheel combo. Keeps the old school foam tire look, but asphalt friendly.

Thanks guys. She's super fun too. Wish the tires were a bit stickier though...she spins off the line too much for me to be able to consistently keep up with my brushless/lipo buddy! If I "heat them up" I do ok but need a better tire. lol

If your radio has exponential throttle i would dial it back a bit so the takeoffs are more controllable.

Well after a brushless conversion I went from this:

So to summarize...
-Broken Andy's front arm (and 2 turnbuckles) (replaced with new World's car front arms and turnbuckle kit)
-Broken rear arm mount (replaced with spare part in bin)
-Broken McCallister lowering kit rear shock mount (machined new mounts)
-Bent dogbone (bent back)

She's all fixed up now...


Did up a single unit too but it didn't look as nice mounted...

Lesson learned...Not fast enough will try a friends 3S (only running 9.6v NiMH) next time out to see what else I can damage! haha

Been a while but a few updates...

As cool as the McAllister lowering kit was from back in the day I've always loved shock towers - so I had some custom pieces made out of CF...LOVING it and it handles great. Changed around the electronics too - low pro servo allowed me to change it up and move a bit of the weight forward.

RC10DS and RC10T inspired for the front...



DS all the way for the rear...





Also went back to the vintage Mini Mags and foam tires...



She hooks up REAL nice now.
