That's looking very nice. I wonder how a roof panel would look on it. I have a spare one from a scorpion that's anodized black if you want it

That's just enough body to get the job done without hiding too much of the bling.

A roof panel would be a nice touch and maybe some window netting? I like the design of this chassis with the side pods. It looks like there's enough room in the center section to work with electronics, too.

I like that cut too, much like the trophy girl trim.
edit: Thumbs could comment on my post, but we all know what I meant!

I was able to make some progress this weekend. I fabricated a skid plate and roof panel from aluminum sheet metal.
I still need to remove some material in the rear of the skid plate. Still deciding if I want to contour the plate to fit the shape of the frame in the front
The DHawk parts came in so I built them up. Need to rebuild a stealth diff and assemble the rouge elements stealth tranny case.

It's definitely not going to be a lightweight build.
I cut down a shaped the chassis skid to match the contour of the frame.
Now it's on to prepping the frame for paint.

Thats what I was thinking. Looks awesome but whats the weight difference in that and a standard rc10.

I've been able to get some progress done on my buggy. I want a set of polished dampers. I couldn't bring myself to strip a new set I have so I took some old dampers I had.
I've been able to find liquid easy off which is way cheaper than buying it in the spray cans.
Dropped them in for a soak in easy off. The anodizing came off fairly quickly
Buffed off the black residue with a scotch brite pad.
Polished them up on a buffing wheel with mother's mag polish
I wasn't really satisfied with my first skid plate I made. So I revised the design a bit and rough cut a new skid plate.
The mount plate in the rear is a bit thin. It's not thick enough so you can't countersink the screws. I made a shim, match drilled and counter sunk the holes.
I used the bulkhead screws for the rear attachment point. The skid will hide most of the screws in the rear.
Now I turned my attention to the chassis. Using a file, sand paper and a scotch brite pad I buffed the chassis out.
Cleaned up the chassis and sprayed the first coat of Tamiya metal parts primer
I let that dry then started in with the Tamiya fine line primer
I'll let this cure overnight and see what I get in the morning.

Layed down some color coats last night. I'm pleased with how it's turning out. I noticed some light spots so I'll paint a bit more tonight

I like the red! That will be a nice contrast with all of the silver parts your adding.
