Right now, until I find one the proper width for 3/16" axles, I'm using a 5mm hex from my kid's old stampede. Rear track width is comparable to the Worlds rere. Then on the outside, I use one of the thick aluminum body post washers (if not the wheel will not tighten) and a standard 8-32 nut. What are they..... 11/32" I think?

I use one of the molded tools that come in the AE shock kits to tighten the nut. Just had to sand it down to shrink the diameter a bit. I didn't have any standard sockets that were thin enough to go inside the wheel opening.

Why don't you try and build a mid motor runner for this one

Just a runner will do though :P

And there you found why I asked the question :) I'll find my AE tool and give it some love to fit. I think I have a 7mm hex on there, didnt measure width...I'll need to do that now.

Dug up some old, cut up battery boxes and trimmed them up a little bit more. Tore the car back apart to drill and countersink the holes. Also added new servo mount holes. Still need to pick up a front bumper and the wide axles. Eventually I will make a one piece battery hold down.

Trimmed up an old viper body I had laying around from I roller I bought awhile back to fit the narrow front. Added wing mounts to the rear tower and installed the wide front axles. I also wanted to try a pair of stock traxxas e-revo rear wheels. So I picked up a pair, as well as a pair of white b4 ftont wheels to make a set.

Finally doing something with this car. Getting it ready for the carpet track at the LHS. Not making it pretty either, just want to get it done.

I forgot about my last pair of custom front arms that were laying in the top of my tool box. So I decided to pull the truck nose plate off and throw a buggy plate on it so i could use them. Added front and rear sway bars. Swapped out the wide axles for standard length ones. Tires should be here soon, as well as a new digital servo.

Are these shock towers you used custom made?
scr8p wrote: Thu Jul 09, 2015 9:32 pm Made so headway on this one. It's a roller now. I still have to grab a front bumper and a pair of wide front axles, then figure out what i want to do about a battery box.

It's a little bit closer to munching some carpet.

The gold nose was bugging me, so I swapped in a black rere nose plate. Jeff cut a couple .89 front towers for me and the tires showed up. Jconcepts Swaggers and Pin Downs. I still have to mess around with shock oil/pistons/springs and ride heights. Got to put a receiver in it too.

Looks good! Are those B4 offset rear wheels you have on there now?

Looking almost factory :)

I'd get that battery as far to the front as you can if you're going to run RM on carpet... I've tried and it's shocking (albeit not surprising) how a RM pushes on carpet

I'm gonna try it as is for now. I've drilled enough holes in the tub already.

Not that it's a perfect tub or anything but I don't want it to end up in the swiss cheesed tub thread.
