coolest car ever in my opinion. I got one when I was like 12 years old for Christmas. Car was awesome! I just won one on Ebay, (or I suspect it is one because it comes with the sway bars and those wheels) and I am stoked. Nice buy man.
Not to hijack the thread, but I too would love to find where to get some parts for it. Gold shocks anyone?

Auctions yahoo japan , the answer to all your needs and pretty addictive.
Luckily/unfortunately I can't bid over 5000 yen.

I can't read that at all... and I have no idea how much 5000 yen is. I'm pretty broke though, just got some rarish NIP parts for my ultima :) And I almost won an FX10. Kind of glad I lost though... the shipping was outrageous

Who doesnt love the old Optima's? And why wouldn't you, these cars were awesome back in the day and it was my first real r/c car. I must have saved for a year to buy mine, after lots of odd chores and my part time job (i was at school back then) I managed to scrape $365 AUD together and buy a car much like this one. I ran the car a short while before realising that bearings would get the car running much better and at $5.50 each it wasnt cheap for a school kid back then. Once I got to the rae track I was busting to get my car around with the others and Optima's were in full force at my local track back then. They were the car to beat in there day. I got this one below for a fair price and although the body work isnt great it does look ok. I have a Kamtec repro waiting for a box art paint job.
