There's a yellow set right now:

I've been watching it for several months. May be good for you.

Thanks. I saw that item and disregarded it as two sets of fronts. I will add it to my watch list just in case. But for now I will hold out for a rear set that is not used. I got a new front set from Sabula tech. Thanks again!

So I ended up buying this front and rear wheel set. The seller took 10% off so I grabbed them. Thanks for the heads up.
*Does anyone know if an LXT body would fit the XXT-CR? Or an XXX-T body? I searched old threads but could not find an answer. Thanks.

So I decided to restore the XXT-CR to stock appearance, but keep the subtle upgrades. So the Lunsford turnbuckles, MIP CVDs and Graphite parts will stay. Out are all the Trinity hop-ups and the pink wheels.
As far as the pink wheels, I still cannot say with any confidence whether or not the pink color was a dye job. Regardless, the wheels are brand new, no glue and apparently never run so I will put them up for sale at some point to help pay off the restoration.
And the Trinity pivot plate that came with the truck is the 0 Degree XX version (Part No. TK0901) and, like the Trinity Front Brace, has some minor scuffing. But both still look great on my XX BK CR.
I will post some progress pictures of the rebuild soon.

Here are some "Restore to OEM" progress pictures:
I striped down the entire truck to clean all the parts before putting it back together. New screws are on the way from Sabula tech; some of the used screws did not clean up as well as I'd like. I took apart the CVDs, removed all surface rust and polished with a dremel attachment, then lubed and rebuilt them. The gear cover that came with the car will be painted Florescent Yellow to match the wheels.

Looks really good. I bought screws from boltdepot.com. They are several cents each and I did both my trucks in them.
Check them out.

Here is another progress picture:
A new black motor plate and clear gear cover are on the way. I still have a few black screws to replace.
The last piece of the puzzle is the Losi 8017 body. Does anyone know if an XXT or LXT body can be made to fit the CR?

It's coming along nicely. Nice update.
Sorry, I couldn't find my motor plate, but glad you found the correct one for it.

it is listed for sale here:

I think it came out pretty good. Hunting the parts was pretty fun. I have lots of hours into it. But I gave up on trying to find an unpainted body. TBG has a body repro for the XXT in the works, but not for the XXT-CR.

Thanks! I guess at least one other person thought so too (it is Sold).
All the great info here is much appreciated. I come away with more knowledge to apply to the next project.
