I bought a set of them and thought of them initially. Where would you mount them? I went with the rear input steering bell cranks and would have to mount them a lot further back.

I was expecting there to be room in the usual spot. Chassis must be too narrow?

Ok, I think have something better than the shock tower tensioner mount. I designed this one to go off of the steering nut. I mounted the tensioner on my rere and took measurements in relation to the steering nut. Should be very close to same location and more stable with no flex. I'm going to order both to see what I like better.

Since you have to run the servo horizontal to the chassis centerline with that bellcrank, I think I would design a servo mount that incorporated it (if it would work). There would be at least 3 mounting points in it so it should be solid.

the MIP setup if you recall used a stick on idler/guide on top of the servo, so yeah, integrating into the servo mount makes sense to me too. your idler part looks innovative, but maybe subject to loosening and twisting during use?

Shapeways finally delivered my left steering block and belt tensioner. I think this is going to work out real well. I have a few other designs printing now to see what works best. Now that I have the driveline all together, I measured 564mm for the belt. Jeff had said he measured the short chassis configuration at 573mm. So I'll order my measured size first and see how that fits.

Now that this is getting close to finished, does anyone know what to use to fill the extra holes the previous owner drilled into the chassis? I'm going to disassemble and dye parts now that I have the car built and like the fit.

That looks amazing! I wonder if your tensioner could be twinned and mirrored, to tie into the other steering post? That should eliminate twisting.

As for repairing carbon, Scr8p could tell you better than I, but I've used epoxy mixed with carbon fiber dust 1:1 on a shelfer with success. (I just used a dremel sanding drum on a scrap and pointed the dust at a container). I haven't run it , so I can't attest to durability, and that servo saver hole may be a challenge.

Finally got the correct belt! Just need electronics to test drive it. I still need a body and want to disassemble the car and dye all the white parts black.
