JUuust in case. and got 2 sets of new idler gears. Im prepared for the worst. Even got 2 NIP Dog bones and extra diff balls. and new clutch. Im ready to push the car now! Buuuut not too much.

looks like a good car to run. The 6 gear is tough, if you are only running the 17.5 and keep the boost to a minimum, it won't be much worse than a medium hot wind from back then. The only thing you will really go through depending on traction could be diff balls/rings and if heated to melting, the spur gear.
while it's an earlier car, its really a decent representation of many many cars that were manufactured, there were really only a handful of parts that would be considered really 'rare', which your car doesn't have. I guess what I am saying is have fun with it, and sure chassis tape would be cool, just cause I hate scratched anodizing in general. If you really wanted to preserve the chassis if it's not scratched up, find something that is well used on ebay, you can get them between 30 and 50 bucks depending on how much of a parts car it is.
the rear sway bar you have is a parma aftermarket setup.

Yeah, only running a 17.5 and no boost. There is Custom chassis protector to protect it. and The originally came with the wiper arms that are identical to eachother. And still has the single mounting hole rear tower. im definately going to have fun. Running this car will alow me to also refresh my B5M

Seeing some of the early Edinger parts laid out is really helpful for me, as I have a couple incoming that I'm going to restore so seeing what they should and shouldn't have is invaluable. Keep updating with pics please.
