So HPI made a lot of parts for the 10L, amazing that i missed all this back in the day....

maybe because i was mostly concentrating on the stadium trucks and 1:8 scale buggies, lol

great work Erik....cant wait for more :D

They made a lot of stuff for the AE pan cars, 10th and 12th scale. Multiple chassis, braces, hubs, etc.

For example:

Wow scr8p, looks like you can build a 10L all out of only HPI parts.

Thanks for taking the time to post the photo! much appreciated!

scr8p! That lot of HPI goodies that you have accumulated makes my jaw drop and drool all over :P

My goal is to build a 1992 Rc thunderdrome participant sort of.
I'm not sure if the gold shock is periodically correct. Did the later hard anno shock come with white plastic or just black?

Chassis so far.
Associated 8310 early rear cross brace.
Composite Craft 12014 Teflon tape.
HPI A028 Upper pod bace.
HPI 6155 Pro hub right.
HPI 6146 Pro hub left double clamp.
Robinson 64p 115t spur gear.

I don't believe any of the AE pan cars came with the hard coated shock bodies. All of the ones I had came with gold.

I think only the L2/L2O came with a hard ano for it's short production run. Then they went to blue for the L3.

Bottom load gold would be the right choice for an LSS. LS switched to the top load black caps.

Great looking car. Liking the better match with the woven carbon HPI parts. ;)

PSE 82126 rear & 26137 front wheels.
Futaba s132h servo.
Tekin 410k esc.
Reedy Mr. E's 13T.
Holeshot heatsink.
Trinity wing mounts.

Futaba PCM fp-r113ip-75 receiver on the way.

Could it be that the HPI part numbers A0... are for the HPI RS10G Street Machine cars?
Top rear pod brace, left bulkhead, hubs and so on are identical to HPI 10L parts.. except early HPI 10L top brace has reinforcements.

On another note. What would be the most widely used antenna configuration around 1992.
Standard antenna tube.
Lexan sheet.
or triangular stealth antenna.

Yeah, A0 parts were used on the Super F1 and then the Roadstar/Street Machine cars.

Most of the parts were interchangeable with an RC10L since the base of the Super F1 were the hop up parts HPI made for AE's pan cars...and Tamiya's F1 cars.

Looking at my 10L SS and it has a top load hard anodized shock but I guess I must have added it at some point later on...

The manual for the 10L SS clearly shows a bottom load gold shock. https://www.teamassociated.com/pdf/discontinued_items/10lss_manualb.pdf

So I consider this one done.
Decided to do it RCCA article style. If I remember right I think Reg did this on one of his buggies.
