Welp, the Hubrol seems to be dry, I let it sit in the sun for some time to cure it. I will add that it dries to a flat on the backside of the lexan. Making almost unusable for any project aside from RC. The can was marked "Sea Grey", not something like "primer" as you'd expect with a surface texture like that.

So I took a spare painted scrap and really bent the crap out of it. The only way I could get the paint to come off was by grating scissors across it. any paint would fail that test. My thumbnail wouldn't remove the paint.

Here's the wing, awaiting destructive testing at the track.

The clear sections on the right top of the wing are from the scissors, I have a nasty habit of doing that. Totally normal for this test.

After a night of thrashing at the track, I only had one issue with the Humbrol paint. When a sticker came off the painted side of the wing, the paint went with it. Otherwise it held up well.

The body was painted with a clear sparkle before the gray, and that has been flawless. So if you want the gray, or any of their other paints, maybe spray it with clear (or sparkle, or whatever) first, and then add the gray. Seems to have worked for me. The wing did not have any sparkle paint on as a base coat.

Have you tried shoe dye? You can find it in shoe repair places sometimes. It's spay on and BITD I would use it for all basic colors like red, white, black, blue and silver. The brand name is Nu Life.

If the paint came off with the sticker, I'd have to suggest the Humbrol didn't bond to the Lexan particularly well.

They can be shipped within the US for sure, as I've received some, but not sure about overseas.

So the body that first had clear sparkle put on, and then the gray Humbrol, is holding up fine. It seems the Humbrol holds well to other paints, it just needs something else to hold better to the lexan. So for anyone wanting to use gray (my favorite color), just do a coat of clear first, then the gray, and it should be fine. Given how bananas some of you guys go over paint jobs, this should only be a very minor inconvenience to use a color that currently doesn't exist from Tamiya or Parma.
