All good info there, but I believe xlr8 is trying to use bruiser wheels on a modern crawler. :D

Those hpi wheels look nice. Did you figure out what the back spacing is or what vehicle they are listed to fit?

I haven't received a reply from HPI regarding the offset but I've confirmed through other sources that they do fit 12mm hex. Here's the list of vehicles they will fit from the HPI site:

THIS PART FITS THE FOLLOWING KITS / PARTS:
E-Firestorm 10T
Firestorm 10T 3.0
Wheely King 4x4
E-Firestorm 10T Flux
I'll check the offset once they've arrive and are fitted to the truck. If the offset isn't exactly perfect, I feel pretty confident that I can make adjustments via alternate hex drive thickness or maybe trim the back of the wheel if necessary. Based upon the photos I've seen, they appear to fit. I'll post an update later.

It is would be very difficult to fit those mountaineer wheels to your TF2. You would be better off finding a 12mm hex mount wheel that looks like these. Here is a set on eBay

Oh, those are really nice. I have a similar set on my Jeep JK converted SCX10 except the bead lock rings are annodized gun metal.
Anyway, for the TF2, I went ahead and ordered a full set of 2.2" HPI 3062 wheels with 12mm hex drive and should fit the truck just fine (I hope). They look similar to the Tamiya Bruiser wheels but don't require that funky 3-screw hub to mount them.

Reply from HPI:
Good Morning,

The wheel does use a 12mm hex, unfortunately I would need to measure one of the wheels to find the measurements you require.

At the moment they are out of stock and not due back for another few weeks. I would suggest looking online for a store that has them in stock and they will be able to provide this measurement.

Kind Regards

Thank you. I just had a quick look at the RPM Revolvers posted on ebay and it could be just what I'm looking for (cheap, chrome, similar in appearance to Bruiser wheel, etc.). However, apparently there are a few variations (82053,82063,82073, and 82233 - all in chrome) so I'll need to understand how they differ. I think Bruiser wheels are also 2.2 and I'll want Pro-Line Trenchers like the truck in the photo above. If you don't mind, could you please post a pic of your rig? thanks again.

therigliveson, thanks for the pic. Your truck looks awesome with those RPM Revolvers.

A little update: the HPI wheels have arrived and they look just like the photo I'd posted earlier -- chrome plating and overall quality are first rate! The fronts lightly interfere with the TF2's steering links so I'll switch to the thicker 5.5mm hexes that were also included with the TF2 kit. With the thicker hexes, there is no interference.
I can now go ahead and order the Pro-Line Trencher tires and finish the truck (it's been sitting in a box for 4 years  ). Thanks everyone!!! :D
