Its an 18turn double wind with wet magnets, 1st for kyosho back then. It has bearings and adjustible timing. Great looking motors and kyosho best at the time. I had one i raced in an Ultima in 89'ish

Congratulations on your motor restorations! They look great and seems to go like new!
Love all the Kyosho motors they are like GEMS!
Quick question:
What do you use to control the motor? rpm, timing, etc...
Thanks

The vintage ProTech charger was bought on ebay for less than $20 shipped. I ripped all the guts out except timer, ammeter,....added a 12v rheostat off ebay to control voltage. Operates off 12v power supply. rpm is read off infrared meter, pick up is pinion with refelctive tape. I built a load meter in it using another 40amp rheostat driving a slave motor in reverse at a lower voltage but was too hard on the motors. All motors tested at 7.2v running, 0 degrees timing on the can (using the arrows and marks on decals)

Beautiful restos, coxbros1. I also love that 360 Gold, it's a beast of a motor. I put one in my buddy's old AYK Buffalo, that I resto-modded for his girlfriend.

Now I kinda regret putting the 480 Gold in my bro's car and the 360 Gold in my buddy's car, because I really need a gold endbell to complete my Marui Shogun build...

Great job on the motors & checking the rpm's of each motor.
What are you missing from the early incarnations, 480T & 240SB?
I have a soft spot for the early Le Mans motors as the first motor I ever bought was a 480T in 1983ish, long before I started racing. I have a 480T now but not in the best shape, I've been keeping an eye out but those early motors bring crazy money!

Thanks everyone! Its fun messing with them. Winner-Evo i just got a 480t in the mail today. I will refurbish it to, still waitn on decals for several. Yes i lack a 240SB, 480gold but have ordered decals. I baselined the 480t as delivered, 19,300rpm @ 1amp, its in pretty decent shape
