I just noticed the bearing carriers in the motor pod. Looks like the rear will have adjustable height to compensate for tyre wear.

Thank you for pointing this!!!

at 2:42 we can also clearly see how, as suspected, the chain rubs on the battery... oh well

This is the last kit I expected Kyosho to re-release! I would have thought for sure they'd have gone to the Ultima Pro or Optima Mid series....simply because the market for these is limited to a tiny slice of die-hard vintage Kyosho fans who are also into 1/12. I thought it was pretty much me & a handful of guys I used to bid against & trade with for these things on eBay! I have a shelf queen, an 'almost' runner, and a NIB example, and am thrilled to be able to start running it again without worrying about finding replacement parts. I've been looking for a front-sprocket for one of these for probably 5 years now! Of course the rarity, mystique, and value of everything I have today will plummet. I suppose that it doesn't really matter since this is one part of my vintage Kyosho collection I know I was never going to part with. I only have 2 problems now - 1) scraping together the cash to buy one of these the moment one is available, and 2) finding a slice of pavement smooth enough to run it like I stole it. Now I really wish a carpet track could survive somewhere near where I live, but that's a pipe-dream I've given up on long ago. By the time I have it in my hands & am ready to run it, perhaps 702 Raceway will be open along with the rest of Las Vegas, and a road trip will be in order.

This is extremely cool to say the least but can it be a real "Kyosho" if it doesn't use zip ties to retain the battery?
Anyway, two thoughts immediately come to mind:
First, the car doesn't appear to have suspension. Is this correct?
Second, since the front tires are smaller than the rear, I reckon this is taken into account with the sprockets. I've only ever ran a 10L on foam tires and never an AWD on-road car but if it's anything like running on dirt, altering the f/r effective drive ratio will impact corner entry and exit performance. I can imagine racers bitd carrying a selection of tire compounds and tire diameters for track tuning purposes.
Just a very cool car and kudos to Kyosho for investing the money to bring it back.
