It blows me away how much vintage R/C stuff is going for these days. It's not even contained to the nice stuff either. Well used, worn out, broken, beat down, scratched up etc... vehicles and parts are fetching head-scratching ridiculous amounts. I don't understand what has warranted the current demand that has never existed up until this point. Why the sudden change?
USPS shipping costs are part of the reason. They have risen a bunch in the last few years.
no doubt. An empty kit box cost $40 to ship without discounts. I had a seller try and send me some parts without tracking to save the costs and they just never arrived. Basically any single parts is plus $5 and groups of parts are +$20.

As to the price , well it's been a while since I could afford even a worn runner to restore .
It also depends on what vintage hop-ups you are looking for. The original 10 style parts are just at a premium over the 2/3/4 parts. Single mint RPM parts go for 1/2 the price of a full car. This white MIP center link is at $52 plus shipping with a day to go. It's likely going to go for near what I got a whole t4 kit for.
Heck I bid $20 on that part which is kind of crazy given what it is.
I picked up a t4 just so I could have a kit to mess around with option parts on.

RPM or Associated, those molded center links bring good money, even the black ones. But the white ones get stupid.

I have a few broken 10T bellcranks that I bought just for the center links and hardware.
