Are the older style YZ10 wheels still available, or do you think you'll end up with 12mm hex wheels?

Hello once again everyone,

Sometimes a good thing doesn't come by itself. Earlier this week I managed to get this YZ10 (I think a Works '93).

This one looks to me that was being used as a touring buggy. The front shocks were mounted lower (I already moved them) and it had body posts on top of the shock towers (I already removed them).
This is definitely in rougher shape than the 94 that I bought and needs a thourough cleaning. Some of the bolts are completely stripped so I need to get extra bolts and there seems to be some corrosion on the driveshafts and the motor mount.

Do you guys have any advice on care - how to remove the corrosion etc?

I was thinking of replacing the bolts by hex bolts - are there any hex conversion kits?

The springs also look a little bent and the shocks definitely need to be rebuilt - any alternatives for the springs I could look into?

Thank you for your time and help!

PS - There was no rear sway bar, should there be one?

Hey @Frankentruck, sorry for the late reply, I did not notice your comment!

There are some reproductions from JCRacing I think, see below:

I think I'll get some of these for my cars!

Another beautiful Yokomo, I have literally spent a decade trying to get the two cars you found seemingly in weeks? I am so jealous right now

The second one is a 92’ yokomo and other than the rims/tires looks to be pretty complete and in darn good shape!

Hey @Toaster , indeed! I was very very lucky I think as I managed to "locally" source these two YZ10's in a space of 3 weeks (locally as in within the EU).

I thought I had a 93 YZ10 ahaha (do you know the differences between a 92 and 93?), in the meantime I found out that this most recent YZ10 was used as a "wide touring car" and this was a very common class in Germany before they were discontinued in favour of regular touring cars.

On the next weeks I plan to take it apart, clean it a figure out what needs replacing (I'm hoping not much ahaha).

Then I can start the process of cleaning up the both of them but it will take a little bit I guess. I have a lot of kits to assemble and not a lot of space

Apologies yes, you are correct it is a 1993, a car I personally think is one of the best of all the yz10’s.
