Got a little time in on my Pro-2, but it seems every time I sit down with this thing, I get about 20 minutes into it, and find an issue that halts production. Last night, I was putting together the front end, only to discover I had two right arms and no lefts. After a visit today to a semi-local guy that is hooking me up with parts, and getting the arms thing worked out, I sat down for another 20 minutes before realizing I don't have the chassis tubes that the bellcranks ride on.

I have some standoffs coming tomorrow that hopefully I can rig to work.

Oh, and I didn't have any front shock bushings as Proline changed how Traxxas originally mounted them, but no fear, some original RC10 upper shock bushings will work just fine! May leave them there as they stick out as the only white plastic on the vehicle.

At some point, I believe that Traxxas switched from a bushing shock mount to a pivot ball.
But Traxxas still sells the bushings separately, part #4365. I just bought some for using Traxxas big bores with a Factory Works tower.

Thanks JC! Ultimately, I need to end up with something like bushings below. Have a common part that will work?

Easiest solution is using the parts made for it.

If they happen to be RC10 sized, there are some other options as well. Dynotech sells some that I've used on several cars and 3D printed replacements are common as well.

I got a nice set of early JRX2 rear hubs without the corner reinforcement..cleaned them up and installed. Makes my early JRX2 build just that much more betterer!

A little more rehab.
I cut the broken section off the battery tray and drilled the correct holes for inline mounting.
Cleaned the shocks and put fresh oil in them. Found some better looking springs, and installed them with locators and cups from Frankentruck.
Servo, motor, and gear cover installed.
Wheels and tires fitted up. I still need to glue them but at least its sitting on it's own weight.
Considering that I haven't bought anything specifically for this car (junk box, spares, bulk, etc), I think its coming along pretty well.

I like that Factory Works rear shock tower. Is there a specific name for that model?

I am starting to collect items for what I am going to consider "my best" RC10, and those are going on the list!

I like that rear tower as well. I have it on 6 (of 11) of my RC10 buggies, with various FW front towers.

Got a killer deal on this 22x-4 slider.
Was originally setup for clay so I've been going through it to get it ready for carpet. I actually raced it yesterday but it definitely needed a a new setup.
Some old skool Losi stickers to make the ugly body slightly better.
Also working on my JRX2 body

Piddling around before work.
Another trip through the boxes netted some Novak electronics, an NER-2X and 410-M5. Also made some motor leads and tidied up the servo wire.
Kinda-sorta reminds me of the old Novak add, which is the image of what I think a RC10 should look like. I guess it made an impression on the young me.

Got in a little more time on the Pro-2. My chassis is lacking two factory parts, 1) bellcrank tubes, and 2) a rear ESC mount, which actually acts as half of the rear shock tower mount. Building one of these from parts really is a PITA.
Made up some bellcrank tubes out of some aluminum standoffs.
Rear ESC tray. This is just temp as a stock unit is on the way from China ........................ with an expected delivery date of the 1st or 2nd week in April.
So while waiting for the ESC tray to print, I thought I would do a quick go-through of the trans. As I got into the diff, literally had to pry the gears out of the solid mass that used to be grease.

So yea, it is getting new parts.

Got a soft spot for the Pro-2, had gotten the chassis for my scratch built slash when it was first released. Instantly became one of my favorites and still is. This is when it existed shortly as a speed run vehicle.
