Interesting idea. Maybe I could take all of the best parts from both and make a buggy (personally preferred) then a truck out of the rest. Find 2 matching pink trinity front wheels...sounding kinda sweet! How hard would it be to find these 2 pink trinity wheels (RC 7431) for a build? Scoured Ebay and only found orange...might be able to find some at some point.

Yes I would clean everything up and assemble as two buggies with period correct gear. Any transmission today is going to be pricey but you could find 6 gears especially in pieces reasonably . I also second the a&l belt trans as a great addition. Part of the game is patiently waiting for the parts you are looking for, such as the trinity wheels, matching shocks, etc. If you like the truck conversion then that makes things a little easier to rebuild too.

Appreciate the ideas and suggestions. Probably will go with a 6 gear period correct trans after checking the A and L Lethal Trans price. Sure looks sweet though! Suffering from sticker shock now as I haven't made any purchases for my RC car collection since doing my RC10 black/black driver a few years ago-build thread here somewhere. I thought about taking the 6 gear out of that but it's the only RC10 driver I have. Just buy more seems to be the only solution. :D Will tear them both down in the next few days and toss into the ultrasonic cleaner and try to do the peroxide bath on the white parts until I can pick up some build parts.

Anyone know where I might find some shock rebuild kits for the shocks on the two ? Rods were about 3mm on the Kyosho and Duratrax. Will need to check the rod on the platinums and the AE fronts. Hoping all the same size o-rings.

Thanks again for help and suggestions!

Any suggestions on a body for one of these builds? Need to order a Double Dare body from TBG for another restoration and thought I would grab a buggy body for the Houge chassis build while I am at it.

Common "006" silicone O rings for the shocks, same as most 1/10 shocks use. I buy them in bulk off Amazon and Ebay but I have a fairly large collection.

The Traxxas 2362 rebuild kit is a good source. The O rings fit and I know that the bladder fits Duratrax shocks (I don't have any Kyosho golds to compare).

The finest! The excitement when I found these two needed for a build..I have not been that excited in a while.

Heads up on the Houge chassis....because of it's shape the chassis will stick out from under that Protech body. If you're going to leave it as a truck then I'd suggest getting a monster truck body. Otherwise you can do some searches on the forums to find what buggy bodies will fit. I think Andy's Heathens or Renegades were options.

Included in the car body selections from Andy is the Andy's Pro Arrow.
The Pro Arrow fit one of my compositecraft graphite chassis nicely.
My chassis is an almost identical chassis to yours, though my chassis was not drilled for Houge rear arms.
I tried to show the fitment issue here https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=46632

Thanks for the heads up on the body issue I am facing. Awesome thread for the chassis, very nicely done! I will be doing some hole filling too.
Houge chassis is 5.26oz (149g). and the slotted 4.22oz (120g).

Got them stripped. Now start trying to acquire parts.

Maybe time for a build thread?
