It's really cool, at lower speeds. IF you were to do this at normal race speeds though I think you'd have a lot of trouble keeping up with the inputs without being able to see the track from a wider perspective. Keep in mind when you scale up the speeds relative to the track size and such you're going like 400-600mph down the straights and visibility is pretty bad from the car level.

This I'd been wondering about for a long time. For R/C racing I think it'd require significantly more skill than having a wider perspective of the track demands, like RogueIV pointed out... but looks like a heck of a lot of fun!
Oooo.... wonder how a race car driver piloting on track would fare against an R/C racer piloting from the Skybox...

A lot of driving a real race car is feel and perception, things that you loose in a remote environment.
For instance, if you were to try to control a group of Nascar vehicles remotely, you'd just end up with a bunch of wrecks.

So, Nascar racing then.

If you want to see something mad in first person radio control then look up fpv drone racing on YouTube , it's like Star wars , totally out of this world but the drones are full of gyros and accelerometers to make them flyable , if you've ever driven a car with a gyro it kind of takes the skill and fun out of it .
I'd bring back propper dirt tracks for sure .
