Alright, final update until I return from a much needed trip with the family.

I received the Delrin gears for the SP-1 transmission. Top shaft idler and diff gear. Can’t believe how much lighter the transmission is. Probably should have weighted it just for fun. Replaced the screws with the appropriate TPS screws and installed the A&L slipper assembly. Also put new out drives on. Cases are used but in very good shape. Hopefully someday I can swap them out just to appease my desire to be 100% new on this one. Swapped out the polished litesink for a proper black beauty and cut and added a Parma gear cover. I love these covers. I love these covers. Super easy to cut out. They’re nice and hard and clear so you can see what’s behind there. The red plug is cool too 8)

With the arrival of the MIP gears I got a surprise. A new Race Prep Chi Town Hustler stock motor. Super cool early 90s that will pair well with the red trinity cells.

Messed with the wing until I was happy and got it all mounted up with some buds buttons. Re installed the T&A wheels wrapped in Trinity spikes and mini spikes using some tecnacraft knock offs. Still deciding if I like the raw titanium on the polished aluminum. TPS wing mounts and cracked open my NIP Andy’s raised with chrome border decals (very hard to find) to doll up one of my favorite bodies in my collection.

I’m a terrible decaler but I like it. I’m also probably going to replace the giant JG decal for a vintage Race Prep decal on the wing.

When I get home I’ll work on installing the electronics and see if I dare solder everything up. 😬 also need to put a pinion on. The one thing I usually leave undone on a shelfer is no shock oil. Super excited about how she’s coming along. Glad I decided to strip it down and give it a proper 1…2.

Definitely one of the nicest Pro Race builds I have come across. All of the period correct hop-ups and vintage hardware really steps it up a notch. Full delrin gears in the SP-1 is a rare sight. I have a new SP-10 case that I might be able to flip your direction.

I think I’m going to call this one done for now. Decided not to solder or cut any electrics. Just placed them and tied up the wiring. Went with a new Futaba S9101 steering servo. Dyed a new set of AE servo mounts black for that.

Went with the new Novak 410-HPc Hyperfet ESC a new Novak NER3FM RX Trinity cells and a large Kimborough servo saver

Ship the buggy to me and I will solder it up for you at no cost. Great work, and that is definitely a BOTM winner right there.
